Difference between save and save as:

Save – current filename and location

Save as – new filename and/or new location

Difference between close & exit:

close – closes the current document; program is still running

Characters in Word that you cannot see are called formatting marks

Draw the formatting mark:

Enter ¶ Space • Tab

Formatting marks are also called nonprinting characters

You use the Show/Hide button to turn the marks on and off

This button is located on the Standard toolbar.

Viewing a document closely or viewing miniature pages of the document is called zooming

To zoom a document, you use the percents drop down menu on the Standard toolbar.

Normal – cannot see the edges of the paper

Print layout – can see the edges of the paper

Red wavy line means: possible spelling error

Green wavy line means: possible grammar error

To select all text of the document: use CTRL + A
