Transcript of Woodrow Wilson Middle School Bulldog Bark · Contact Media Specialist, Michelle Sanchez, for more...
Dear Bulldog Parents,
Thank you students, parents and staff for yet another stellar start to our school year. On our
official 5th day count, we reported 666 Bulldogs which was our anticipated enrollment. Our 6th
grade teachers report that our pups are adjusting to the middle school transition just fine! Our
7th grade teachers report that their students are glad to not be the youngest in the school. And
our newest group of 8th graders are stepping into their leadership roles nicely.
The notorious car line was much shorter at the end of our second full week. Our approved
student pick up area is on the east side of the school along Edison. PLEASE refrain from telling
your child to meet you some place in the neighborhood (corner store, church a few blocks
down, cross streets etc.) This is a dangerous practice and I am asking parent to utilize our
routines in order to keep your child safe.
We will be balancing classes these next two weeks which may require some schedule changes.
As we dissolve some sections or bring class sizes into law compliance we will be notifying
students. We hope to have this all accomplished by Friday, 9/7/18.
Have a great long week!
Mrs. Faucett Principal
We currently have about 75 Wilson students that ride their bike/scooter daily to school.
Please ensure that your child has (AND WEARS) his/her helmet. If your child needs a helmet,
please email Ms. Glicksteen by clicking here. She will ensure that your child has one.

BICYCLE HELMETS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW
On Thursday, September 13, flu shots will be made available for all Wilson students at no cost.
In this newsletter is the consent form that must be filled out and returned to Nurse Butler on
or before Friday, September 7. You may also sign up online at www.HCPSflu.com. Please know
that your child will not be able to receive the flu shot at Wilson on September 13 if this
consent form is not completely filled out and returned or sent in online. Please contact Nurse
Butler at 813-276-5682 ext. 226 with any questions.
Wilson communicates typically once a week by email. Each student may have 2 email addresses
on file for parent communication. Wilson communicates by text message for emergencies, like
a rainy day dismissal.
If you are not getting our texts or emails, first, please check your SPAM folder and your
blocked phone numbers with your email and cell phone providers. If you have blocked school
system texts, you are the only one that can fix that.
Contact our Data Processor, Mr. Rivera, 813.276.5682 ext. 227, if you need to check your
communication addresses and phone numbers.
ARE YOU GETTING OUR EMAILS AND TEXTS?
Si necesita ayuda en español con esta información, puede contactar a Steven Rivera.

HCPS DRESS CODE REMINDERS
Wilson Middle School enforces the dress code established by Hillsborough County Public School. When purchasing clothing,
please ensure that it follows the dress code for Hillsborough County Public Schools.
Shoes will be worn. Backless shoes are not safe on stairs or appropriate for physical education class. We strongly suggest
that students refrain from wearing backless shoes.
Clothing that exposes the entire shoulder, tube-tops, spaghetti straps or similar type clothing is not permitted. Clothing
exposing the torso or the midriff, either front, back or sides, will not be worn. Clothing that reveals cleavage or
undergarments will not be worn. Underwear, including bra straps, will not be visible.
Clothing not properly fastened or with tears that are indecent will not be worn. Pants may not have tears above the finger-
tip length that exposes bare skin. Clothing traditionally designed as undergarments will not be worn as outer garments.
Pajama pants and slippers are not permitted.
All pants and shorts will be secured at the waist.
Boys’ shirts will have sleeves.
Hair will be clean and neatly groomed.
Head coverings including bandanas, hats and jacket hoods will not be worn while on campus.
Miniskirts, mini dresses and short shorts are not permitted. Hemlines must be fingertip length. This is a good rule of
thumb for length questions: student stands with arms down, at sides. If the length or the clothing is shorter than the stu-
dent’s fingertip, the garment is not appropriate. Running shorts do not meet dress code for 99% of middle school
students who wear them to school.
Garments and/or jewelry which display or suggest sexual, vulgar, drug, gang, or alcohol-related wording or graphics, or
which provoke or may tend to provoke violence or disruption in the school, will not be worn.
Wallet chains will not be worn.
Tops made of stretch fabric, which clings to the body, do not always stay down to cover the midriff. In addition, much of the
stylish wear for teens is inappropriate for school. Bermuda shorts seem to be a style that girls like and meet the dress code.
6th graders do not dress out for PE; therefore, an athletic type shoe for daily wear is a great choice. Leggings may be worn
but the top layer (shirt or shorts) must be fingertip length.
If you paid for PTSA memberships and/or a directory you should
have received an email, from [email protected] or
with a link to the appropriate form.
If you didn’t receive an email please check your spam folder, If the
spam folder search is unsuccessful please email us
at [email protected], and we will send you a new
link.
We continue to receive orders for Wilson t-shirts, hoodies and
magnets! Thank you for your patience as we work to fulfill your
orders. Please note: we have almost depleted our stock of hoodies
for this year and are in the process of ordering more. If you would
like a hoodie for your Bulldog, please submit your spirit order as soon as possible. We would like to place our next order by the
end of next week 9/7/18. The hoodies are on a four-week lead-
time, so you should receive your hoodie by the end of September./
beginning of October! Please contact Staci Fraser 813-215-
3328 or [email protected] with any questions.
We received several spirit sales orders without a name on the
form, so we don't know who to send them home with. If you didn’t
receive an order, and you think one of these orders is you, please
contact Staci Fraser.
1. Adult S and M hoodie $70 (backordered)
2. 2. Adult L hoodie (backordered) and magnet $40
3. 3. 2 magnets $10
Coming soon! Water bottles with the Wilson logo. The order
form on the website will be updated early next week.

As our children get older we allow them
more freedoms, like walking to and from school.
The state of Florida
has a great website to search
for registered sexual offenders and predators that
are believed to be residing in or around the school,
your home, your neighborhood, the park or
where ever your child may be.
I am asking all parents review information
found on this site with their child(ren) in whatever
manner you see fit.
This information is available to you,
via the internet, at
http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/homepage.do
You can then select search options.
It can also be accessed from the Woodrow Wilson
Middle School website, http://wilsonms.mysdhc.org,
by clicking “For Parents” and the “Keeping Your
Child Safe”.
Should you have any questions
about this information, please do not hesitate
to contact our school TPD officer,
Lou Molina at 276-5682 ext. 228.
