“Be sure that you first preach by the way you live. If you do not, people will notice that you say one thing, but live otherwise, and your words will bring only cynical laughter and a derisive shake of the head.” (St. Charles Bor-romeo)

1st Sunday of Advent
HOW WILL YOU PREPARE
FOR THE COMING OF JESUS?
1. ADVENT OUTREACH PROJECT: Our Lady of the
Snows will be helping Haiti180 raise $15,000 to equip a
delivery and maternal suite in their newly built medical
clinic. How fitting this is, as we await the birth of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who was born in condi-
tions much like those of the villagers in Haiti. The
money raised at our “Music for Life” concert in July
helped fund the structure, but now Haiti180 must raise
an additional $220,000 to supply each room of the clinic
with the equipment necessary to help the people of
Haiti. Please consider supporting this effort, both
financially and through your prayers. 100% of your tax-
deductible donation goes to the project. For more infor-
mation, please visit our display in the church entryway,
where you will find brochures, photos and donation
envelopes. You may also visit Hait180.com..
Will you be shopping for presents? Wrapping gifts?
Baking cookies? Decorating the tree? While these are
all activities most of us participate in during this season,
Our Lady of the Snows invites you to observe Advent in
a deeper, more intentional way this year. Following are 5
opportunities for you to do just that…
Quote for the week… 1st Sunday of Advent “For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.” Matthew 24:42
People who have had health issues or near-death experiences generally have a greater
appreciation for each day being a gift from God. The rest of us usually take for granted
that we will be around tomorrow. But when you start to look at each day as a gift, you
realize all the little miracles that happen daily and grow in gratitude for all that we have
been given.
St. Charles Women’s group has invited all women of our community to join them on the next session of
classes. Meetings are at the Parish House from 6:30pm-8:00pm. On Tuesdays.
Holiday Basket 2016 – Our Mission is to help Blaine County families in need during the holidays. In 2015,
we provided food baskets that include all the fixings for a
holiday meal to over 406 families in December. Children under
18 also are given brand new warm clothing/boots they request
and new toy, as well as books, puzzles, board games,
toothbrushes and toothpaste. Together with the support of
local businesses, donations, volunteers, adoptions, and the Sun
Valley Board of Realtors, we make a difference at this time of
the year for these families. We are reaching out to the
community to help with the toy portion and we anticipate
needing 1000 toys this year. A toy bin will be placed in the
church with a flier suggesting toys to donate and a donor letter.
Please join us in this community outreach during the month of
November and thank you for your involvement and generosity.
