Having recently volun- teered to clean Section “D” (from “J” Street south to Concord Street) of Hampton Beach on a monthly basis, the students enthusiastically began their work at 6:30 a.m. Even at this early hour the heat and humidity were already oppressive, yet no complaints were heard. Cheerfully picking up debris which was not only unsightly but also potentially harmful to marine life, the students removed 45 pounds of trash including more than 3,400 cigarette butts.
