Bird  and  Bug  Bonanza    A  fun  and  family-­‐friendly  event  is  being  hosted  by  the  Roseville  Utility  Exploration  Center-­‐The  Bird  and  Bug  Bonanza.  Explore  Cruddy  Creek  in  their  interactive  creek  crawl,  build  your  own  bluebird  home  if  you’d  like,  enjoy  story  time  with  the  library  and  join  the  Bug  Squad!  Fun  activities  for  the  whole  family  including  playing  games  and  win  prizes  as  you  get  up  close  and  personal  with  our  local  habitat.    For  more  information  call  916.746.1550  This  is  a  free  event,  however  if  you’d  like  to  participate  in  the  bluebird  home  building,  there  is  a  $10  materials  fee.    http://bit.ly/ExplorationEvents  

 

RCONA  Update      A  great  reminder  from  RCONA  –  The  Roseville  Coalition  of  Neighborhood  Associations  –  that  the  City  of  Roseville  Police  Department  is  again  hosting  the  Citizen’s  Police  Academy  March  7-­‐17,  Monday,  Tuesday,  Wednesday,  Thursday  of  each  week  from  9:30am-­‐12noon  at  the  Roseville  Police  Department.  This  eight-­‐day  academy  is  a  great  opportunity  for  community  members  to  have  an  inside  look  at  our  local  law  enforcement.  Topics  include  Community  Oriented  Policing  and  Problem  Solving,  K-­‐9  Unit,  Investigation’s  Unit,  Records  Division,  Search/Seizure,  Gangs,  Narcotics  and  a  tour  of  the  Roseville  Police  Department.  Academy  classes  are  taught  by  police  personnel  and  attendees  will  have  the  opportunity  to  meet  with  the  Chief  of  Police  and  staff  members.  The  Roseville  Police  Department  hopes  to  instill  a  greater  awareness  and  understanding  of  law  enforcement’s  role  in  the  community,  through  the  education  provided  by  the  Citizen  Police  Academy,  as  well  as  provide  a  great  resource  for  volunteers.  http://bit.ly/CitizensAcademyRPD  And  speaking  of  volunteers,  if  you’ve  ever  wanted  to  volunteer  for  the  Roseville  police  department  they  offer  a  wide  variety  of  opportunities.  AND  the  Citizen  academy  is  a  required  course  in  becoming  a  volunteer.  So  it’s  a  great  opportunity  in  a  myriad  of  ways.    

Box  Tops  Reminder  WONA  is  continuing  our  BoxTops  drive.  If  you  haven’t  already,  start  clipping  and  saving!  You  can  either  drop  them  off  at  our  meeting  or  save  them  up  for  our  National  Night  Out  Event  in  August.  They  will  be  donated  to  Silverado  Middle  School.  Thank  you!

In  December  we  enjoyed  a  cookie  party.  And  in  January,  Kaye  Swain,  our  social  media  specialist,    awarded  the  $50  gift  card  to  Britany  Cunha  for  her  lovely  Christmas  decorations  at  her  home.  And  a  hearty  thank  you  to  ALL  our  neighbors  who  participated  in  the  contest.    They  were  all  beautiful.

Roseville  CA  Updates  

In  case  you  missed  it,  there  are  new  laws  for  hover  boards,  at  least  TWO  of  the  area  “porch  pirates”  have  been  “pinched,”  and  more.  You  can  read  all  about  it  in  the  Roseville  Public  Safety  and  Neighorhood  News.  Not  getting  it  yet?  Go  to  the  City  website,  http://www.roseville.ca.us/  and  sign  up  in  the  top  right  corner  where  it  says  “Sign  up  for  email  &  text  news.”  J    

Also  –  The  next  neighborhood  watch  training  session  will  be  from  5:30  to  6:30  p.m.  on  March  22  at  the  Roseville  Police  Department  to  help  you  start  a  neighborhood  watch  group  on  your  block.
