Typically, the arrangement of these materials reflects the provenance of the collection and may be arranged by source or type of document. This organization is crucial in understanding the context of each document relative to others within the collection.

Document Organization The original archival arrangement is preserved so archivists decisions in arranging the collections is respected When all docs in a collection are retrieved, they are ordered in the original arrangement in the results. If results are sorted by accession no., folders are arranged the way they were originally in the archive.
