WMEA All-State 2018 Voice Audition Materials

We are pleased to introduce our new SET C audition materials for grades 9-12. These materials must be used to be considered for the

2018 WMEA All-State Symphonic and Treble Choirs.

Important: For 2018, we have added a required chorale. You will find it at the end of this packet. This track must be recorded live. The applicant will hear the other three parts while the recording is being made.

Track six is a required four measure sight-singing exercise. The sight-singing exercise will be revealed at the time of application/audition upload. The student’s performance of the sight-singing exercise will be recorded live on the website at that time. There will be a 45 second review time of the example prior to the recorded performance of the exercise.

You will hear the starting pitches for the chorale rolled from the bottom up and then the starting pitch for the part

you will sing played again. A click track will begin counting in the tempo for the Chorale. The website will begin

recording and you will sing the your part as assigned above. Sing your part on "doo". You will hear the other parts

sung while recording. At the end of the chorale the website will stop the recording and automatically submit it as part

of your audition. Please note: while you will hear the Soprano line sung during your recording both Altos and Sopranos will

all learn and sing the Alto line for this audition.
