Report on observation of World Malaria Day on 25th April 2013 at Bankura District 2013

Introduction: Current study has revealed the severity of Malaria world Wide. Malaria is considered as

the leading killer vector borne disease. Observation of World Malaria Day is important to discriminate the awareness and knowledge to common people as well as Medical & Non Medical Officials, District /Block administration, policy maker and mass communication holders etc.

Date of observation: 25th April, 2013.

Place of Observation: Bankura District. Covered individual Blocks under the District HQ.

Duration of the World Malaria Day Observation Programme: 12 noon to 3.30 PM on 25th April,13.

Activities on World Malaria Day Observation Programme:

1) A sensitization programme cum meeting at District level has been done on that day at conference hall ,Office

of the Chief Medical Officer of Health Bankura with the total participants of 210. Mode of discussion and

sensitization based on Power Point Presentation Showing including the discussion of Hostory & epidemiology of

the Disease and current status of the disease with the information of its control and prevention. The

ADM(Health) appreciate the programme important by his presence and short lecture.

2) A well decorated Jeep with tablow and IEC materials were travelling around Bankura town and miking was

made to discriminate the awareness information on Malaria.

3) Distribution of Leaflets and poster containing IEC on Malaria has been done at district level and block level.

4) Banner has been displayed at different populated area through district level team and block level team.
