Stakeholder Engagement

Unaware: Create awareness! Share newsletters, project updates,

make personal contact and communicate about their

responsibilities and what they can do to support the project.

Resistant: Develop a degree of understanding. Communicate common ground and highlight mutual benefits. Use consultation,

feedback, & friendly debate. For authority positions, find areas for

compromise and concession to allay their concerns. Don’t dictate

terms or solutions to prevent alienation.

Neutral: Share good news and positive results to gain support. Tailor

communication to their expectations. Don’t be pushy or over attendance and risk creating resistance.
