WKOI Richmond, Indiana Report for February 2016 Food Pantry WKOI-Richmond, Indiana partners each month with Gateway Church in Richmond, Indiana with its food pantry outreach to the needy in our community. Every month WKOI furnishes the food pantry with non- perishable items that participants could not ordinarily get with food stamps. This month we purchased and provided trash bags, hand soap, deodorant, paper towels, facial tissue, and bath tissue. Last month we were able to help over 340 families. Joy in Our Town This month on Joy in Our Town we welcomed Captain Bobby Lipps from the Richmond Police Department, who talked about crime and focused on neighborhood crime. Food Pantry

WKOI-Richmond, Indiana partners each month withGateway Church in Richmond, Indiana with its foodpantry outreach to the needy in our community. Joy in Our Town

This month on Joy in Our Town we welcomed Captain Bobby Lipps from the Richmond Police Department, who talked about crime and focused on neighborhood crime. We also invited Pastor Terry O. On a second Joy in Our Town program we welcomed Karen Bowen, Director of Wayne and Union County CASA, an advocacy organization for abused and neglected children, and Wendy Canon, a CASA volunteer. We also welcomed Tom Canon of Shepherds Way Christian Ministries in Richmond, who discussed recovery options in substance abuse.

We also welcomed Mike Davis, Chief of Fire Prevention with the Richmond Fire Department, who talked about public safety and discussed smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers. Mike also did a second segment on public safety and talked about winter emergencies. We also welcomed Pete McDaniel with theWayne County Veterans Office, who spoke on veterans benefits.
