Social Media Diary

• Write a blog post chronicling (by the minute) all of your social media usage for 24 hours.

• The blog post should be in the form of a timeline and should include details about the channels you

used, how long you used them, why you used them and the context in which you used them.

• Include 2 pieces of media in your blog post (screen shot of your phone, picture from your day, embed a

post you shared on one of your social channels, etc.)

• Conclude the post by reflecting on your social media consumption.

• Questions to consider: How did it fit into your day? Did you rely on social media more/less than you

expected? How did it impact your decision making? How do you think your life would be different

without social media? How would you communicate differently? How does your social media usage

compare to the 28% of time the average user spends on social networking sites?

ASSIGNMENT

• Create your Wordpress blog.

• Create an About Me page including a completed form of this Q&A.

• Create a Twitter account and follow everyone in class.
