ABSTRACT FOR THE PAPER PRESENTATION:

Now a days,we are facing a lot energy crisis in our country because of various reasons but we dont think about the energy transmission in a wireless manner. In our present electricity generation system we waste more than half of its resources. Especially transmission and distribution losses are main concern of the present power technology.The transmission and distribution system causes a loss of 26% to 30% of energy generated.The transmission of power without wires is one of the alternative for electricity transmission.WHAT IS WITRICITY?

WITRICITY means transmission of energy through air medium. A system of two electromagnetic resonators coupled mostly through their magnetic fields. The cables can be replaced by air in wireless transmission. It is a most efficient power transmission when we compared to other type of transmission. Because of Witricity some of the devices wont require batteries to operate.HISTORY OF WIRELESS TRANSMISSION:In 1899, Sir Nikola Tesla Proposed a method of Wireless Power Transmission. He enlighted 200 lamps at the distance of 40 km that is in a wireless manner. The efficient midrange power transfer concept is Witricity. In this model source and load are in Magnetic resonance so 1there is no power loss. As it is in Radiative mode, most of the Power was wasted and has less efficiency. Able to light lamps over 25 miles away without using wires.

REBIRTH OF WITRCITY-WIRELESS TRANSMISSION:

The team from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who call their invention WiTricity. In the first successful trial of its kind, the team was able to illuminate a 60-watt light bulb 7ft away. Prof. Soljacic Another Genius MIT-IBM Collaboration * He did succeed to redesign Teslas experiment in safer way.NEED FOR WITRICITY-WIRELESS TRANSMISSION:Cell phones, i pods, laptop computers are capable of re-charging themselves without ever being plugged in.

BASICS OF WITRICITY:HOW WITRICITY WORKS..?

1) Power from mains to antenna, which is made of copper2) Antenna resonates at a frequency of 10MHz, emitting electromagnetic waves3) 'Tails' of energy from antenna 'tunnel' up to 2.5m (8.2ft)4) Electricity picked up by laptop's antenna, which must also be resonating at 10MHz. Energy used to re-charge device.5)Energy not transferred to laptop re-absorbed by source antenna. People/other objects not affected as not resonating at 10MHzIS WITRICITY IS SAFE? LIMITATIONS.
