There is a passion in Pro. Hersh Chadhas venture;a passion or conveying the wisdom o the centuries, right up to the present day, or the beneft o all. Manytimes has compassion flled his heart . . . and manytimes has he aimed at understanding the power o thehuman spirit, as conveyed in his quotations and anec-
dotes. His work is a reiteration o things known andthings remembered, and a campaign to integrate theminto our lives.
This book is recommended to all people who believein the essence o true compassion and responsibility, and to those who seek to instil greater peace and har-
mony in the world. It is a handbook o vision and wis-dom that inspires us to create a new, more meaninguluture. It is a matter o great pride and pleasure or meto provide this Foreword to Hersh Chadhas new work. His eorts are exemplary in more ways than one. Thisis also a tribute to his mother who taught him the mostimportant value: that o sel-esteem the greatest es-sence o ones soul.
This book aims at empowering our emotional world torestructure ourselves in a manner in which we can be-come healers o each other and the world. It holds
the key to the transormation o our wounded planetthrough the evolution o our inner selves. As your chil-dren are growing, you instinctively know that the mostimportant thing you could do or them is to give themthe sel-esteem, sel-assurance and security that comesrom a direct experience o the essence o ones soul
as expressed in these quotes.
Hersh Chadha is a ollower o the wisdom and tradi-tions that have taught him that the world is an exten-sion o onesel. It is really up to us to unlock the secretso lie, love, happiness and success. To excel in ourwork and our relationships, to oster bonds with the
generations beore and ater us, and to instil values inour children that will give them confdence and inspirethem to treat others with love and respect.
I am sure that this volume will serve as a useul bench-mark and guide each one o us into becoming morecomplete human beings.

All About Colour
The envelope o the earth,The sky, is blue in colour. The shades o our landAre pastel in colour. But it is the smallFlowers which tellUs all about colour.
It was the vibrant coral-pink o these magnicent
tulips in Keukenho Gardens in the Netherlands
that rst attracted me to this scene, then I realized
the repetition o shape was equally important.

Colour
Colour is to eyes what water is to thirst.
Colour is vital in photography and its amazing
how many colours occur in tulips. The kaleido-
scope eect is exhilarating, i not intoxicating.

Aids
The problem with Aids is when you have ityou die
And sometimes you make your partner dietoo.
Worse still, the orphan you leave behind whodoes not
Have Aids does not have anything to live or.

Flowers and plants are the breath o lie. When-ever possible, I like to move close in with a macro
lens to highlight each fowers colour and shape.
I especially enjoyed photographing the anthurium
on the let s because o the way the light ell on it.

Orchids, Phuket, Thailand
It was my daughters birthday and I had thewhole swimming pool ull o orchids. Whileshe slept through the night and woke up a
year older they were there, waiting or themorning sun to rise beore she could step intothe pool.
Late in the morning the orchids clung onto
one another in the water, moving rom side toside. Then I saw they were slowly moving toone side and I decided to push them into thecentre. While I did this the sun shone and myprincess woke to see her swimming pool ull oorchids.
It was a magical moment. A treat rom herather, or rom the orchids, or rom the sun
whichever way you look at it.
So many things go into making a perect daybut we only see what we want to see.
