Then, continue on foot up Toompea Hill to Palace Square, where the baroque fortress of Toompea Castle still dominates the city. Follow narrow ways to reach the Russian Orthodox Nevsky Cathedral. A short walk from here lies St. Mary’s Cathedral, a gothic masterpiece also known as the Dome Church. Enjoy an inside visit before continuing to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the rustic medieval rooftops of Lower Old Town. Stroll to Town Hall Square, home to the oldest surviving Town Hall in the Baltic countries. Shop among the many local merchants and stop for coffee and pastries at a local café before a short drive takes you back to the port.

June 20 – St. Petersburg, Russia Rise early to enjoy a scenic cruise along the city’s waterways, passing magnificent palaces, sumptuous mansions, and stunning cathedrals. Then, visit the Yusupov Palace, one of Europe’s most lavish estates. Explore the estate’s grand halls, view its art collection, and learn about the 1916 palace murder of Grigori Rasputin. Then, journey to the famous St. Isaac’s Square in the heart of the city. St. Isaac’s Cathedral was designed by the French architect Auguste Montferrand and features a vast and opulent interior. Afterward, savor lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the famous Hermitage Museum. The museum boasts the world’s largest painting collection. Finish your thrilling day of discovery with a visit to the beautiful Church of the Resurrection of the Spilled Blood, a traditional Russian-style multicolored onion-domed church.

June 21 – St. Petersburg, RussiaOn your second day in the city, visit both Pushkin and Peterhof. Your day begins with a visit to the Catherine Palace in Pushkin. Wander through the palace’s grand halls and discover the stunning Amber Room, once named the “Eighth wonder of the world.” Step outside and stroll the palace’s lush gardens, boasting 1400 acres and pavilions surrounding a central lake. Then, sit back and relax over a traditional Russian lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a journey to the Peterhof. The Peterhof is known for its breathtaking fountains, cascades, gardens, and intricate footbridges. Enjoy a scenic drive across the Neva River to visit Vasilyevsky Island. Admire the island’s rostral columns and explore the 18th century Peter and Paul’s Fortress, the revered burial site of the Russian Tsars.

Continue along down the famous Mannerheim Street, snapping photos of Parliament House, the National Museum, and Finlandia Hall, Helsinki’s opera and concert venue designed by legendary architect Alvar Aalto. View the Olympic Stadium which hosted the games in 1952 and then stroll the serene and lush grounds of Sibelius Park. Marvel at the monument dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Then, step foot inside the stunning Temppeliaukio Rock Church, a one-of-a-kind church blasted out of solid rock. Finally, journey to Senate Square where you can snap photos before returning to the ship.

June 16 – Norwegian FjordsGet an early start for your scenic journey on the Bergen Railway. This train ride, voted as one of the best in the world, takes you over the “mountainous rooftop” of Norway and through charming villages like Gol and Geilo. At Myrdal, switch to the Flåm Railway for an incredible 20 km ride with a 900-metre descent to the beautiful town of Flåm. Here, you have about 45 minutes of free time. From Flåm, continue by boat through the Aurlandsfjord and into the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in Europe. This is perhaps the most beautiful part of the Sognefjord with its mighty waterfalls and small farms clinging to the steep mountainsides. At Gudvangen, a bus takes you through the magnificent Nærøy Valley to Voss, the connection point for the final train ride to Bergen. Spend the night in Bergen.

June 17 – BergenSpend the first half of the day as you wish in Bergen. Though this is Norway’s second largest city, it still has the charming atmosphere of a small town. Here you’ll find the old wharf of Bryggen—a UNESCO World Heritage site, along with well preserved old houses, the vibrant fish and flower market, the Fløibanen funicular with great views and many museums. In the afternoon, make your way to the central station for your return train ride to Oslo, where you’ll spend the night.
