SOUTHERN GOLF CLASSIC Net Income $11,528 Dousman, Wisconsin — June 28, 2010 Event Sponsors: Kenosha Beef International We Energies Join us Monday, June 27, 2011 at the 9th Annual Southern Golf Classic.

NORTHERN GOLF CLASSIC Net Income $10,005 River Falls, Wisconsin — June 14, 2010 Event Sponsors: AgriBank, FCB We Energies Join us Monday, June 13, 2011 at the 4th Annual Northern Golf Classic.

GOVERNOR’S SWEEPSTAKES MEAT PRODUCTS AUCTION Net Income $31,570 — August 11, 2009 Event Sponsors: Rupena’s Fine Foods Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors Wisconsin State Fair Join us Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the 20th Annual Governor’s Sweepstakes Meat Products Auction.

In this annual report you will find an accounting of our income and expenses, a listing of our various endowment funds, and information about our donors and the many program areas you help to support. That’s all information for the HEAD. Now I’d like to speak about the HEART of Wisconsin 4-H – some of the many faces, achievements, and goals of 4-H Youth Development.

n I recently joined a large 4-H club in the Madison area and find the club meetings so impressive. The older youth gently instruct the younger ones in parliamentary procedure, and then they conduct the club meeting with poise and focus. Forty kids in attendance and all paying attention and participating for over an hour!

n Go to any county fair this summer and observe the great variety of 4-H projects on display – and the skill involved in creating them. Wisconsin 4-H truly offers something to fit every youth’s interests and skill level.

n At any 4-H activity, you’ll see volunteers supporting, guiding, and encouraging 4-H youth in their efforts. These youth-adult connections provide positive role models and a caring environment for our youngsters.

n I am constantly impressed at the number of hours local and state 4-H staff put in during their work day. And then many of them volunteer for 4-H in their free time!

n I love watching the State 4-H Youth Leader Council members as they participate in the 4-H Foundation’s various fundraising and donor recognition events. They are outgoing, confident, articulate – and make me proud of what 4-H has helped them to achieve. All of us are really helping to “Make the Best Better” and it is exciting to see the great results!

These examples, to me, typify the heart of 4-H – the good occuring when donors, volunteers, staff, and youth come together to make a better world.

As a donor, your financial gifts help provide training for volunteers and teaching resources for many 4-H project areas. Your gifts help to keep registration costs low so all youth can participate in 4-H activities. Your gifts help give youth the opportunity to try new things, stretch their minds and grow in self-confidence. Your investment in Wisconsin 4-H youth pays unimaginably wonderful dividends for many years to come!

So please fill your HEAD with the facts about the 4-H Foundation and 4-H programs, and fill your HEART with the values and successes of Wisconsin 4-H. Thank you for helping to make Wisconsin 4-H GREAT!

Patricia Harrington, Executive Director Wisconsin 4-H Foundation
