The iWAP103 Zone 1 Universal Access Point Enclosure is designed to allow the deployment of wireless networks in hazardous

areas. The concept allows installation of equipment from leading WLAN vendors such as Aeroscout, Meru, Symbol, Cisco,

Firetide, Acksys and many others. Each type of Access Point or RF transmitting device is rigorously checked and tested by

Extronics and/or a Notified Body to ensure conformity to the ATEX requirements. This means that the user may select the vendor of their choice when extending a WLAN to hazardous areas. However equipment not already on the list overleaf will

require assessment to determine its suitability.

The Extronics iWAP103 requires one or two high quality Ex e increased safety antennas (not included) such as the

Extronics iANT100 series. These will allow optimum coverage on Chemical Plants, Oil Refineries or Oil & Gas Platforms. Optional

features include surge arrestors for lightning suppression in outdoor installations and fibre optic inputs for the Ethernet.

Additionally the IWAP103 has optional single or dual RS232/RS485/RS422 inputs, allowing these interfaces to be transmitted

over a WIFI link. Finally an optional POE supply module allows the iWAP103 to power up to two external devices such as IP

cameras or additional access points.

Overview

iWAP102-A Zone 1 WiFi Access Point

The iWAP102-A Zone 1 and 21 Wireless 802.11 Access Points provide reliable secure WiFi connectivity for your industrial facility. The

dual radio tri-mode Access Points are part of our Meru powered Wireless LAN System, which consists of coordinated Extronics iWAP AP’s at

the edge and centralised Meru controllers for management, security and coordination for over-the-air reliability and Quality of Service (QoS).

The iWAP102-A also comes as standard with best in class security, basic Voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) support, and reliability essential for Enterprise-class WiFi connectivity.

Reliable Connectivity Anywhere

The Meru powered iWAP102-A is especially suited for deployments in industrial environments where RF multi path interference often causes

problems for standard WLANs. The iWAP102-A is a plug-and-play device that needs no configuration and no complex RF channel planning.

Centralised configuration with Meru controllers and RF coordination provided by Meru Air Traffic Control™ technology eliminates costly

installation steps and improves the throughput of the complete network.

Multi-Layered Security

To help deliver greater security for the WLAN, Extronics Meru powered AP’s go beyond the basic over the air protection by providing multi-layered security policies. Local and Radius MAC Filtering, WPA2, WPA, 802.1x and WEP. No security information is

contained within the AP and they only operate with the Meru controllers, it is also possible to have a different security policy

assigned to a specific group of users or to a particular VLAN.

Centralised RF Management Lowers Operational costs

The iWAP102-A Access Points are controlled by a Meru Controller residing in the safe area which allows configuration and control of

the system from a local terminal or remote PC

Designed For Extreme Environments The Extronics iWAP102-A is designed for use with one or two standard antennas or Extronics iANT200 series of intrinsically safe antennas

for optimum coverage on Chemical Plants, Oil Refineries or Oil & Gas Platforms. Optional features include surge arrestors for

lightning suppression in outdoor installations, multimode fibre inputs for the Ethernet, enclosure heating and cooling for extreme

ambient temperatures and anti-condensation plus the option of plug and socket cable entry instead of cable glands.

Single Channel Infrastructure for the Easiest to Deploy

Network

The iWAP102-A is the easiest to deploy enterprise class WLAN

because the single channel architecture eliminates channel planning required in a traditional WLAN significantly reducing costs. Also most

suitable for plants with background noise on certain 802.11 channels

as a noise free channel can be chosen for deployment, not possible

with the traditional 1, 6, 11 channel planning WLAN.

Convenient Network Expansion

Add new AP’s as more bandwidth is required without having to

change channel planning.

Dual Radios and Wireless Backhaul Capability Dual radios enable simultaneous support of 802.11a and 802.11b/g if

required. Also a MESH wireless backhaul can be configured in

locations where network cabling is to expensive to install.

iWAP102-M Zone 1 Wireless Mesh Ethernet Router

Overview The iWAP102M Zone 1 and 21 Wireless MESH Ethernet Routers provide reliable Ethernet connectivity over a high-performance, self-

forming wireless mesh backbone - indoors, outdoors, or onboard moving vehicles. Powered by Firetide they have one Ethernet port for

connecting network devices such as an IP Camera or other networks to the wireless mesh. iWAP102 mesh nodes provide up to 70 Mbps

throughput and operate at 2.4 GHz, 4.9 GHz (U.S. public safety licensed band), or 5 GHz. Depending on the model, iWAP102 nodes are equipped with either single or dual radios, operating at up to 400 mW.

Reliable Connectivity Anywhere

Designed for seamless indoor and outdoor operation, the mesh network securely handles concurrent video, voice, and data applications,

making it ideal for industrial networks. The mesh's self-forming and self-healing properties enable rapid deployment and dependable

operation. Firetide's AutoMesh routing protocol manages network load and traffic congestion to optimize mesh-wide performance and

capacity.

Dual-radio Performance

To maximize performance, dual-radio iWAP102 nodes support two radio modes. In the "bonded" mode, both radios are combined to operate as a single unit that provides double the bandwidth of a single radio equivalent. This is ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications such as

video surveillance, resulting in crystal clear video images. This mode also provides a "fat pipe" for point to point wireless backhaul - for

example, to connect two mesh networks or creating a point to point link between two sites.

In the "linear" mode, both radios operate independently enabling sustained bandwidth levels over an unlimited number of hops. This enables

long linear topologies, such as when networking a railway line, and provides a sustained level of service to every node, which is also critical

for large municipal networks.

Designed For Extreme Environments The Extronics iWAP102 is designed for use with one or two standard antennas or Extronics iANT200 series of intrinsically safe antennas

for optimum coverage on Chemical Plants, Oil Refineries or Oil & Gas Platforms. Optional features include surge arrestors for

lightning suppression in outdoor installations and multimode fibre inputs for the Ethernet, enclosure heating and cooling for

extreme ambient temperatures and anti-condensation plus the option of plug and socket cable entry instead of cable glands.

Features and Benefits

Overview

iWAP200-A Zone 2 WiFi Access Point

The iWAP200A Zone 2 and 21 Wireless 802.11 Access Points provide reliable secure WiFi connectivity for your industrial facility. The dual

radio tri-mode Access Points are part of our Meru powered Wireless LAN System, which consists of coordinated Extronics iWAP AP’s at the

edge and centralised Meru controllers for management, security and coordination for over-the-air reliability and Quality of Service (QoS). The

iWAP200-A also comes as standard with best in class security, basic Voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) support, and reliability essential for Enterprise-class Wi-Fi connectivity.

Reliable Connectivity Anywhere

The Meru powered iWAP200-A is especially suited for deployments in industial environments where RF multi path interference often causes

problems for standard WLANs. The iWAP200-A is a plug-and-play device that needs no configuration and no complex RF channel planning.

Overview

iWAP300-A Industrial WiFi Access Point

The iWAP300A Industrial Wireless 802.11 Access Points provide reliable secure WiFi connectivity for your industrial facility. The dual radio

tri-mode Access Points are part of our Meru powered Wireless LAN System, which consists of coordinated Extronics iWAP AP’s at the edge

and centralised Meru controllers for management, security and coordination for over-the-air reliability and Quality of Service (QoS). The

iWAP300-A also comes as standard with best in class security, basic Voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) support, and reliability essential for Enterprise-class WiFi connectivity.

Reliable Connectivity Anywhere

The Meru powered iWAP300-A is especially suited for deployments in industrial environments where RF multi path interference often causes

problems for standard WLANs. The iWAP300-A is a plug-and-play device that needs no configuration and no complex RF channel planning.

The iWAP300-A Access Points are controlled by a Meru Controller residing in the safe area which allows configuration and control of

the system from a local terminal or remote PC

Designed For Extreme Environments The Extronics iWAP300-A is designed for use with one or two standard antennas or Extronics iANT200 series of intrinsically safe antennas

for optimum coverage on Chemical Plants, Oil Refineries or Oil & Gas Platforms.

Network

The iWAP300-A is the easiest to deploy enterprise class WLAN

because the single channel architecture eliminates channel planning required in a traditional WLAN significantly reducing costs. Also most

suitable for plants with background noise on certain 802.11 channels

as a noise free channel can be chosen for deployment, not possible

with the traditional 1, 6, 11 channel planning WLAN.

Convenient Network Expansion

Add new AP’s as more bandwidth is required without having to

change channel planning.

Dual Radios and Wireless Backhaul Capability Dual radios enable simultaneous support of 802.11a and 802.11b/g

if required. Also a MESH wireless backhaul can be configured in

locations where network cabling is to expensive to install.

iWAP300-M Industrial Wireless MESH Ethernet

Overview The iWAP300M industrial Wireless MESH Ethernet Routers provide reliable Ethernet and optional serial data connectivity over a high-

performance, self-forming wireless mesh backbone - indoors, outdoors, or onboard moving vehicles. Powered by Firetide they have one

Ethernet port for connecting network devices such as an IP Camera or other networks to the wireless mesh. iWAP300 mesh nodes provide up

to 70 Mbps throughput and operate at 2.4 GHz, 4.9 GHz (U.S. public safety licensed band), or 5 GHz. Depending on the model, iWAP300 nodes are equipped with either single or dual radios, operating at up to 400 mW.

Reliable Connectivity Anywhere

Designed for seamless indoor and outdoor operation, the mesh network securely handles concurrent video, voice, and data applications,

making it ideal for industrial networks. The mesh's self-forming and self-healing properties enable rapid deployment and dependable operation.

Firetide's AutoMesh routing protocol manages network load and traffic congestion to optimize mesh-wide performance and capacity.

Dual-radio Performance

To maximize performance, dual-radio iWAP300 nodes support two radio modes. In the "bonded" mode, both radios are combined to operate as

a single unit that provides double the bandwidth of a single radio equivalent. This is ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications such as video surveillance, resulting in crystal clear video images. This mode also provides a "fat pipe" for point to point wireless backhaul - for example, to

connect two mesh networks or creating a point to point link between two sites.

In the "linear" mode, both radios operate independently enabling sustained bandwidth levels over an unlimited number of hops. This enables

long linear topologies, such as when networking a railway line, and provides a sustained level of service to every node, which is also critical for

large municipal networks.

Designed For Extreme Environments

The Extronics iWAP300 is designed for use with one or two standard antennas or Extronics iANT200 series of intrinsically safe antennas for optimum coverage on Chemical Plants, Oil Refineries or Oil & Gas Platforms. Optional features include surge arrestors for lightning

suppression in outdoor installations, multimode fibre inputs for the Ethernet, enclosure heating and cooling for extreme ambient

temperatures and anti-condensation plus the option of plug and socket cable entry instead of cable glands

Features and Benefits

Single Infrastructure for Multi-user, Multi-service

Wireless Network

The Firetide mesh solves the problem of having to build out

dedicated wireless networks for multiple applications and users. With iWAP300-M nodes, you can build a single

infrastructure for site safety video, Wi-Fi access, enterprise

VPN, and voice traffic, dramatically reducing return on

investment in the wireless backbone.

Convenient Network Expansion

You can extend your existing network, whether wired or

wireless, with iWAP300 nodes and achieve seamless

integration with all network components and applications.

Advanced Mesh Security

End-to-End security in the iWAP300 mesh nodes ensure

maximum safety and privacy of your data. They feature WEP

and WPA2 encryption between nodes and AES encryption from

ingress to egress. All Layer 3 IP data is encapsulated and

accessible only to Firetide mesh nodes. iWAP300-M nodes

support VLANs, segmenting traffic with secure access control

on same physical infrastructure.

The iWAP102-LR Location Receiver is a zone 1 hazardous area version of the Aeroscout Location Receiver and is a core component

of the AeroScout Visibility System that enables location-based applications in a WiFi wireless LAN environment. The AeroScout

Location Receivers provide robust and sophisticated time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurement capabilities packaged in small,

easy to install devices. The Location Receiver receives standard 802.11b messages and executes sophisticated radio signal measurements, enabling the AeroScout Engine software to accurately calculate the location of both AeroScout's WiFi-based Active

RFID tags and any WiFi-enabled device.

Locates any tagged asset, using Extronics Tags. AeroScout's small, rugged, battery-powered tags can be attached to people

and to a variety of equipment, such as medical devices, containers, manufacturing equipment and retail shopping carts. Location

Receivers receive and process tag information accurately from a long range.

Locates standard WiFi clients without hardware or software modifications. The AeroScout system also locates standard

WiFi clients such as laptops, PDAs and barcode scanners, without the need to tag these assets or introduce client software. This

eliminates a major management challenge and enables simple implementation.

Accurate real-time location as well as sophisticated RFID choke-point detection. The AeroScout system uses time

difference of arrival (TDOA) algorithms to determine accurate location. With the AeroScout Exciter, the same system also enables

tags to be detected, reprogrammed or transfer data messages as they pass through doorways, gates or other choke points.

Indoor, outdoor and mixed operation. The AeroScout System is suitable for use in indoor, outdoor and mixed environments,

from corporate offices to harsh industrial areas.

Overview

Low infrastructure requirement Location Receivers

communicate with the AeroScout Engine software via standard

Ethernet or wirelessly over a WiFi network - no dedicated

location network cabling is required. Also, because Location Receivers have a long read range (600 feet outdoors), large

installations can be covered with much less infrastructure than

standard RFID systems.

Ease of installation

Configuration is simple: The installer executes all setup tasks

from the AeroScout Engine's System Manager software, which

records the placement of a Location Receiver with a single

mouse click. Location Receivers also support Power over

Ethernet, eliminating costly electrical installation.

Performance

AeroScout's expertise in wireless signal measurement has led

to the development of a range of patent-pending algorithms

and techniques. Embedded in the Location Receiver, these

measure the TDOA of standard 802.11b messages to the

nanosecond. The AeroScout Engine processes this TDOA data

to produce accurate and reliable location data suitable for

mission critical visibility applications. Each Location Receiver

can process over 300 location measurements per second,

enough to satisfy even the most demanding applications. A

minimum of three Location Receivers suffices to enable TDOA location processing. Location Receivers can also process

presence based location for areas where fewer than three

Receivers are available.

Excite tag to send or store a message

The Extronics iCITE 100 is a Zone 1 approved version of the Aeroscout Exciter which is a hardware component of AeroScout's

industry-leading Visibility System for Active RFID and location applications. Exciters add value by extending the system to provide

robust and sophisticated RFID detection and identification capabilities, using the same Wi-Fi-based Active RFID tags that can also

be accurately located in real time by the AeroScout system.

Exciters use low frequency signals to trigger Extronics iTAG 100 tags as they pass through a choke point or within Exciter range, to

transmit a message that is received by a standard Access Point or Location Receiver. This provides

instant knowledge that a tagged asset or person passed through a gate, doorway or some other tightly defined area, as well as the

ability to identify an asset's precise location on a rack or a workstation. The detection capabilities of the Exciter, combined with

location features, make the Extronics hazardous area Visibility System the most sophisticated enterprise location solution for a

wide variety of industries.

Overview

Theft prevention and security

Facilities and general enterprises can tag valuable assets that are

intended to stay within a certain area. The system can track the

location of those assets, and if they leave through an exit or enter a restricted area, the Exciter will trigger an alert.

Process control

Manufacturing and supply chain facilities can track the location and

presence of equipment and in process inventory as it moves through

the production process. This gives an enterprise a real-time view of

which (and how many) assets have passed each step in the process,

enabling better supply chain management.

Reduced searching time Exciters can identify an individual asset among many similar assets,

such as WIP items on a shelf in manufacturing, or hospital infusion

pumps in a storage room. The person initiating the search will not

only know the location of the asset, but can also make the tag

physically identify itself through a blinking light.

Inventory management

Logistics and manufacturing en-terprises can automatically up-date

inventory records based on assets currently within defined areas,

ensuring real-time knowledge of levels without manual checks or physical scanning.

Business event automation

Any type of enterprise can use Exciters to trigger automated events

and alerts that occur based on the location of an asset. For

example, when a set number of pieces of WIP

inventory pass by an Exciter to enter a processing area, the floor

supervisor can receive a pager alert to redistribute staff to that

area.

Log data in remote hazardous areas and upload data via GSM/GPRS

networks Intrinsically Safe II 2(1)G EEx ib [ia] IIC T4

-10ºC to +55ºC (14ºF to +131ºF)

IP68 (4 metres for 4 days)

The iLOG100 is an intrinsically safe battery powered data logger for use in remote hazardous areas where there is no power supply

infrastructure and process data is required to be measured and logged. The iLOG100 has two 4-20mA inputs with loop power

supply to power any standard intrinsically safe two wire transmitter such as flow, level and temperature transmitters. The three

digital inputs can be configured as either an on/off logic signal for starting or stopping logging from devices such as a float switch or configured as a pulse counting input for flow measurement and totalising with a frequency range up to 1KHz.

The power is provided by a replaceable battery pack that will last up to several years depending on logging frequency and number

of data uploads per day. For applications that have a high logging frequency an external battery pack is available as an option

doubling the battery life.

The iLOG100 is configured by a user friendly Windows software package which also offer diagnostic facilities. The logged data is

uploaded to a Linux Server running software or alternatively it is possible to use our managed servers and via a web browser view

the data and export it to other applications.

Overview

Flexible Mounting and Rugged Construction

The iLOG100 is made from a robust polycarbonate and as such is

resistant to corrosion. It is designed for installation in dirty wet plant

environments and with IP68 ingress protection it can be installed in areas susceptible to flooding to a depth of 4 metres for 4 days.

Long Battery Life

A powerful, replaceable battery pack offers years of logging

depending on the frequency of logging and data upload. The battery

life may be doubled by adding an external battery pack. The

intrinsically safe battery packs may be changed in a hazardous area

meaning a hot work permit is not required or the iLOG100 does not

have to be dismounted and moved to a safe area.

Internal or External Antenna

As standard the iLOG100 is supplied with an internal stub antenna.

For applications where the GSM/GPRS network signal is poor an

external antenna may be connected. Extronics have several types of

external antenna available that have been assessed as intrinsically

safe when used with the iLOG100. Other special antennas may also

be used providing they have been assessed by Extronics to comply

with the intrinsic safety

requirements of the certificate.

Logging Functions The iLOG100 not only measures and logs data but it can also

perform calculations on the data such as flow rate from pulse

inputs, totals, averaging and simple maths functions.

Component certified DC and low-frequency

AC block with transient current limitation.

Allows antenna outputs to be made

intrinsically safe.

Passes RF from 900MHz—6.5GHz

Small OEM module

The attenuator module provides DC and low-frequency AC blocking with transient current limitation for intrinsically safe RF

devices. It consists of a small PCB loaded with high performance RF components protected by a screening can. Connections

are made via SMA sockets. The board has 4 3.2mm diameter mounting holes allowing it to be secured to a chassis.

The device contains two series capacitors which provide DC blocking. These capacitors also present a high impedance to AC

low-frequency AC signals. Transient current limitation is provided by a low-loss RF resistor. An assessment must be made (by

a notified body) of the maximum voltage available under fault conditions from the apparatus connected to the input port of

the attenuator module. By assessing the maximum available fault current and voltage at the attenuator module output port, a

value may be determined for the maximum permissible capacitance and inductance of the load for a specific gas group.

Providing that these conditions are met, and any heating effects in the load are considered, the load may be considered to be

intrinsically safe.

The RF attenuator module is designed to be used as part of DC blocking circuits where transient current limitation is required.

It is built as a ceramic thin-film Pi attenuator network designed to offer good impedance matching and a flat 0.5dB insertion

loss between 100KHz and 6GHz.

The module is designed so that it will fail open-circuit when over-loaded by RF, therefore it is deemed to be an infallible RF

current-limiting device. It has suitable creepage and clearance for 60V as standard (2mm), and this can be increased by

conformal coating or use in a low-pollution environment (e.g. under encapsulant) as defined in EN60079-11:2007 (although

this may result in a small increase in insertion loss above 1Ghz).
