    MOUNT CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL

    General InformationThe camp will stress mechanics and proper technique

    while covering the mental and physical aspects of the

    following areas: Hitting, Fielding, Baserunning, Pitch-

    ing, and Catching. You will learn fundamentals from

    the Mount Carmel Coaches and Alumni, which are the

    same drills used at all the top colleges and in the profes-

    sional ranks.

    There is no need to pre-register. Registration will take

    place upon entry at 8:00am. This is a free clinic. In ad-

    dition to receiving instruction from MC Coaches and

    Alumni, each camper will also receive a Camp T-Shirt.Camp is open to baseball players from 5th - 8th grade.

    Tours and additional school information will be available

    for parents.

    What To Bring:Glove, Bat, Gym Shoes, T-Shirt, Shorts/Baseball Pants,

    Lots of Energy, and the Will to Get Better.

    The Mount Carmel baseball staff

    strongly believes that athletic partici-

    pation plays a vital role in the for-

    mation of a young mans character.

    Discipline, responsibility, teamwork,

    and the development of a strong work

    ethic are the core in which this program

    is built. Pride, respect, and self-esteem

    are synonymous....none of which are

    given, but EARNED.

    We emphasize pride in everything that

    is associated with our program. We

    take pride in the way we wear our

    Brian Hurry begins his 16th

    season at Mount Carmel and

    his 14th as Varsity Head Coach.

    Before coming to Mount Carmel,

    Coach Hurry played baseball at

    the College of St. Francis and had the privilege toplay for baseballs all-time winningest coach, Gordie

    Gillespie. At St. Francis, he was a reserve middle

    inelder on the 1993 NAIA National Championship

    team. During his nal season, Hurry was named

    Team Captain for the Saints 1996 Regional-Finalist

    ballclub. Coach Hurry completed his Masters De-

    gree in Administration in 2004 and currently serves

    as a faculty member in Mount Carmels Social Stud-

    ies Department.

    Coach Hurrys emphasis on preparation, discipline,and respect for the game has resulted in 11 consecu-

    tive Regional-Championships, ve Sectional-Champi-

    onships, the schools rst Elite Eight appearance in

    2003, a State Runner-Up nish in 2005, and a State

    Finals fourth place nish in 2011. In fourteen seasons

    as Head Coach, his teams have averaged 28 wins

    per season and have posted an overall record of

    376 - 133. In that span, 63 players have gone on to

    compete at the collegiate level, including 20 Division

    I players. In addition, seven MC players have been

    selected in the Major League Baseball Amatuer Draft.

    Caravan uniform, the way we sprint on

    and off the field, and the way we take

    our pre-game infield. Our players also

    take pride in the way we accept suc-

    cess and failure, and how we treat our

    opponents and umpires. The real key to

    winning, is having good, self-motivated

    athletes who accept responsibility for

    their actions and development. Most

    importantly, our players understand that

    they are students first and athletes sec-

    ond. They understand that sports are

    only temporary, but their education will

    last them a lifetime.
