As part of capturing the beauty of New Zealand, the beauty of our specially crafted trips and beautiful music we bring you Winter Wonderland, a magnificent tour of the Southern Alps, the rugged West Coast and the glaciers and lakes of this magnificent region. We journey through the Southern Alps on the TranzAlpine train, marvelling at snow-capped mountains, lakes and incredible gorges, then the rugged West Coast with tours to the Punakaiki Rocks (pancake rocks), and gold mining history, walk through the rain forests, travel down the amazing West Coast coastline and to the glaciers. All of this we combine with music, extraordinary experiences and a heap load of fun with Bonnie and Jess on board to help with the merriment.

Day 1: Wednesday 16 August 2017 Christchurch (D)Novotel Hotel Cathedral Square (2 nights)

HIGHLIGHTS include: • Antarctic Life Centre, our first glance at a Winter

Wonderland with its displays of Antarctica, the snow and ice experience, Scott Base, and hang out with little blue penguins!

• Our welcome dinner at the fabulous Hinton’s Vineyard and Restaurant with our first wonderland concert is entitled What a Wonderful World!

DAY 2: Thursday 17 August 2017 Christchurch - Akaroa day trip (B, L)

HIGHLIGHTS include: • Day trip to Akaroa, a gorgeous seaside settlement

with its history and French influenced cottages and buildings, including lunch.

• Stop at the Giant’s House, an historic Akaroa house with original artworks, terraced gardens with sculptures and mosaics.

DAY 3: Friday 18 August 2017 Christchurch – Greymouth (B, D)Millennium Hotel (2 nights)

HIGHLIGHTS include: • We journey on the TranzAlpine Rail, one of the world’s

most famous train journeys, between Christchurch and Greymouth. We traverse the mighty Southern Alps, where spectacular views of the chiselled alpine landscape will take our breath away at every turn.

• A visit to Shanty Town with its exceptional display of the gold mining.

• A hearty meal at Speights Ale House with the odd tipple, maybe a hearty stout to end the day and warm the cockles of your heart!

• Visit to a greenstone carving/jade factory plus a demonstration.

• Our final gala evening in the beautiful restored Hokitika Regent Theatre, ‘Nuggets’ of Fun and Frivolity, a variety show, complete with gold mining stories and fantastic local characters.

DAY 8: Wednesday 23 August 2017 Hokitika (B)

We fly from Hokitika to Christchurch today (included) to join up with your other flights with the firm knowledgethat we live in the most beautiful country in the world.

DAY 4: Saturday 19 August 2017 Greymouth – Punakaiki Rocks - Westport (B, L, D)

HIGHLIGHTS include: • Visit the famous Punakaiki Pancake Rocks beside the

rugged West Coast. • Fabulous scenic drive through Paparoa National Park

with lush West Coast native rainforest, mountain tops and expansive rugged beaches.

• Visit Westport to sample hearty food and the local hospitality of the West Coasters.

• A fabulous roast meal at Steamers Carvery at the local hotel.

• Coal museum in Westport.

DAY 5: Sunday 20 August 2017

Greymouth – Franz Josef (B, L)Scenic Circle Franz Josef Glacier (2 nights)

HIGHLIGHTS include: • A coastal drive down the West Coast to the glacier

region with magnificent mountains, coastlines and rain forests.

• A magnificent tree top walk and lunch. • Visit to Franz Josef, a 12 km glacier, part of the World

Heritage Westland Tai Poutini National Park.• Accommodation with balconies overlooking the

mountains.

DAY 6: Monday 21 August 2017 Fox / Franz Josef Glacier (B, L, D)

HIGHLIGHTS include: • A choice of the Fox Glacier Terminal Face Walk or a

scenic drive around the area.• Lake Matheson for lunch with views over the reflective pond of Lake Matheson with its reflections of Mt Cook.• A mid-winter wonderland Christmas dinner and

concert entitled I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.

DAY 7: Tuesday 22 August 2017 Glaciers – Hokitika (B, D)Beachfront Hotel (1 night)

local art galleries and shops.
