He then meets Ben Russel, a rough ex-con and the father of the man Dane shot, who is hell-bent on avenging his son’s death. But small town corruption and paranoia turn these bitter ennemies into unlikely allies, as the two guilt-stricken fathers begin a search for truth, aided by Dane’s tough minded wife and a pig-raising detective from the back-woods of Houston. Jacob Kaplan lives an ordinary life in Uruguay. Like many of his other Jewish friends, Jacob fled Europe for South America because of World War II. But now turning 76, he’s become rather grumpy, fed up with his community and his family’s lack of interest in its own heritage. One beach bar may, however, provide him with an unexpected opportunity to achieve greatness and recover his family’s respect in the community: its owner, a quiet, elderly German, raises Mr.Kaplan suspicion of being a runaway nazi. Ignoring his family’s concerns about his health, Jacob secretly recruits Contreras, a more loyal than honest former police officer, to help him investigate. Together, they will try to repeat the historic capture of Adolf Eichmann: by unmasking and kidnapping the German and secretly tak-ing him to Israel.

Mo has finished serving his time for a brutal crime he did not commit—the murder of two young girls. In prison, his fellow inmates named him “The Cyclops” for his violent behaviour; he called himself Mohamed, in homage to the prophet. Not entirely prepared for his new freedom and under constant suspicion by the small town com-munity, he finds solace working at a dog’s shelter. There, he meets Doris Lamb, a beautiful, broken woman who endures the same beatings as the dog her husband has brought in. Mo and Doris connect in their own dysfunctional way.One night, exhausted from her husband’s abuses, Doris seeks refuge at Mo’s place. Driven by the deep love that has developed between them, Mo decides he will stop at nothing to help Doris.

Nuclear disasters, wars over oil and gas, climate change and ever-increasing energy consumption: We have reached an important crossroads. To keep on going like this is not an option. But how can we meet our energy needs without destroying our own existence? Is there such a thing as clean energy and efficient technology? And if so, why aren’t we using it? ENERGIZED takes viewers on a journey through the crazy world of energy. From the perspective of those affected as well as pioneers and critics, this film documents the desperate attempts to tap the planet’s last oil and coal deposits and to conceal the risks of nuclear energy. It also sheds light on the impact of the gigantic water, wind and solar power plants, debunking popular myths about renewable energy, and takes a look at some other solutions, which cannot be put into practice. The film ultimately shows how this whole business is not about providing people with what they need, but about promoting energy systems that enable certain people to make a fortune.
