Did You Know? About Mt. Charleston

Mt. Charleston, at 11,918 ft. (3,362m), is the highest point of the Spring Mountains, and Nevada's seventh highest peak. It is located approximately 35 miles northwest of Las Vegas. The Spring Mountains divide the Pahrump Valley and Amargosa River basin from the Las Vegas Valley.

Mt. Charleston has over 50 miles of marked trails over the rocky terrain. And is home to the brand new Cathedral Rock picnic area . The Lodge will be preparing Eco-Friendly

picnic box lunches along with choice of wines for that special afternoon picnic. Some of these trails are paved and handicap accessible. There are also strenuous climbs the top of the mountain. The tougher hikes offer rewards of scenic vistas and unique geology and flora. But hikers of all ages and abilities will find something to enjoy while visiting

Mt. Charleston, including picnics and camping. Bicycles are permitted on some trails.

Mt. Charleston and the Spring Mountains are typically 20 - 30 degrees cooler than the valleys,

so the area is a popular getaway for both Las Vegas residents and visitors who want to enjoy an outdoor activity while escaping the brutal desert heat.
