The Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie in Cadwalader Park Presents Winter in the Park Saturday Art Workshops for Adults 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM January 25, 2014 – Fine Fiber Art - Felting Part 1 with Nelly Kouzmina – An introduction to the basics of wet felting, the foundation technique for felt makers, will be explored. We will discuss the fundamentals of fiber layout, choosing appropriate materials for your project, and prepare you with the basic skills necessary to move on to more advanced projects. You will complete a small project with this wet felting technique. ($25 materials fee due at registration) February 1, 2014 Fine Fiber Art - Felting Part 2 with Nelly Kouzmina For participants of the first class only. You will take your new knowledge to the next step by learning about embellishments for your project. Time permitting we will complete a small project on nuno felting or cob web felting. (Additional supplies may be purchased from instructor during the class) Felting is designed as a two-week class, but students may sign up for Part 1 only. February 8, 2014 – Bookbinding with Mindy Trost. Learn about book cloth, book board, and the do's and don'ts of basic bookbinding techniques. The accordion structure is the gateway to other bookbinding structures such as the tunnel book, the flag book and the do-si-do book; samples of these will be shown during the workshop. The book made in the workshop can display photos or be used as a sketch pad. Beginners welcomed; must be comfortable using an Xacto knife. Workshop Fee: Non-members: $60 for 2-week class. $35 for 1 week Members: $50 for 2-week class $25 for 1 week Reserve a spot online at www.ellarslie.org .
