The High Alpine Lift has been replaced and realigned allowing guests to ski from Rock Island, AMF or the Cirque without having to drop to the lower mountain to access the High Alpine area. In addition, snowmaking has been installed with new glading to allow for even more fun in the trees.

The Aspen Art Museum and Aspen Skiing Company continue their longstanding collaboration “Art in Unexpected Places” with new lift ticket artwork for the 2015-16 ski season. The four unique, stand alone images feature the artwork of renowned contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. New York-based artist Shinique Smith will create a new site-specific work at Elk Camp restaurant which continues her exploration into connections and values we ascribe to objects-both discarded and prized-and examining the very notion of “belonging”.

Getting here is easier than ever as American, Delta and United have all added or expanded nonstop flights into the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) this season. Altogether these three airlines offer nonstop flights from Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Denver with as many as 218 total flights per week-far more than ever before!

Cheers! AMF Amber Lager debuted this summer and is named after the local-favorite double-black ski run, AMF. This approachable multi-season cold-fermented amber lager is brewed by the Roaring Fork Beer Company, specifically to celebrate Snowmass. AMF is offered on tap at restaurants including Venga Venga, Slice Italian Bistro, Nest at Viceroy Snowmass, Base Camp Bar and Grill and Ricard in Snowmass Base Village. Bottles available soon at Sundance Liquor & Gifts and the Daly Bottle Shop.

We hope you enjoy all the fun that Snowmass Village has to offer this winter. Be sure to visit gosnowmass.com, your resource for all things Snowmass. You can even sign-up to receive updates on upcoming events, and lodging, dining and retail options. That’s the Beauty of Snowmass!

W E L C O M ETucked in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, just 9 miles to Aspen, Snowmass Village delivers on your elevated expectations. TOP SPOTS TO SNAP A SELFIE

It’s selfie heaven up here at Snowmass. Winter-white vistas that go on forever make the perfect backdrop for any photo. Ribbons of snow-covered trails inspire one picture perfect turn after another. Heaven.

While the photo ops are endless, a little direction never hurts. Here are some of our favorite spots – they will surely make you smile (even if you’re camera shy).

» Head up the Elk Camp Chair to check out the renowned Maroon Bells and the Elk Mountain Range» Take the Cirque T-bar up to 12,510’, the highest point on the mountain, to enjoy incredible views of

the Roaring Fork Valley from Mt. Sopris to Independence Pass.» Take a break at Sam’s Smokehouse. From its deck Mount Daly looks like you can reach out and

touch it! See if you can make out its iconic stripe through the snow.» The view of Zeigler Reservoir hasn’t changed much in 120,000 years since mastodons, sloths,

mammoths and more roamed these parts. Picture yourself there as you cruise down Dawdler. » From the top of the Big Burn, head down Sneaky’s for panoramic views of Garrett’s and Capitol peaks.» Dare to jump in to the 22’ Zaugg-cut Snowmass Superpipe and picture yourself winning gold

at Winter X.

Share your best #Snowmass shots and let us know your favorite vistas.

FUN 101At Snowmass, every child is a Very Important Kid both on and off the slopes. That’s why we’ve developed V.I.K. Snowmass so that the fun doesn’t stop when the lifts do. Every week, every day, there are activities designed with your family in mind. From storytelling to sing-a-longs, tubing and bowling, adventures with wildlife to pool parties, we’re building memories for every munchkin on and off the mountain.

Pint-sized superheroes need fuel too! V.I.K. is a village-wide program. More than a dozen Snowmass restaurants have special V.I.K. kids’ menus for every picky palate ranging in price from $6-$21.

I C E A G E D I S C O V E R YIn October 2010, a bulldozer operator working near Snowmass Village uncovered the tusk of a young female mammoth. Over the next ten months the Denver Museum of Nature and Science conducted its largest-ever fossil excavation yielding a treasure of well-preserved Ice Age fossils.

This discovery led to the largest discovery of mastodons (35) in the world, the finest alpine Ice Age fossil trove in the world and Colorado’s most important fossil discovery ever.

SNOWMASS ICE AGE DISCOVERY CENTERSnowmass is the only mountain resort with an on-staff, Paleontology Interpreter. Visit the recently updated exhibit and check out the new Interpretive Lab complete with fossils representative of most of the 10 large mammals discovered in Snowmass as well as peat from the 2010 dig that includes microscopic fragments of bones, insects, plant life and small

mammals. The Ice Age Discovery Center on the Snowmass Mall is built for both kids & adults to enjoy. Open daily from 10:00am-5:00pm. Admission is FREE. Call 970.922.2277 for more information.

WHAT’S COMINGSnowmass Discovery, an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has been created to continue the science and programming associated with this historic discovery through the exploration of Snowmass by creating engaging experiences that celebrate the finest alpine Ice Age discovery in North America. Snowmass Discovery is working to ensure that the legacy of this discovery lives on for generations to come. Learn more about this organization by visiting its website, snowmassdiscovery.org.
