Waitlists:If the class you are looking for is full, then please ask to be put on the waitlist. The Aquatic Centre uses these waitlists to add classes based on greatest demand. We have been able to accommodate over two-thirds of the people on waitlists! Please keep in mind that added classes may have different start times and dates, so you may need to bealittleflexible.

The Swim For Life Program! The Okotoks Aquatics Centre, along with the Lifesaving Society, is pleased to promote the Swim for Life program. This research-based program focuses on making swimmers safer in and around the water. Water Smart Education is included in all of our learn-to-swim classes! Our aim is to provide participants with the swimming and survival skills, along with water safety know-how, necessary to be active in and around the water.

Lil Tots – Levels 1, 2 & 3This is a parented program that is designed to introduce infants and toddlers to the water. It focuses on teaching parents proper techniques to help their children learn in a positive, safe and fun environment. We have divided some of our Lil Tots programs into 2 levels. Where possible, we are now offering the Lil Tots 3 as a separate class, so we can provide a better experience for those “older” tots and their parents.

Preschool 1 – 5The PRESCHOOL program is made up of 5 levels. These 5 levels help children age 3 to 5 learn to love the water through games and activities.SwimmersthatcompletethefifthlevelandmoveontotheSwimmer program are able to bypass Swimmer 1. We have developed our own program for those who have completed PRESCHOOL 5, but are not yet old enough to enter the swimmer program, called Preschool Plus. Check it out!

Swimmer 1 – 6The Swimmer program is for children age 6 to 12. In this program, swimmers achieve greater success in each of the 6 levels. When skills in the Swimmer program are complete, the next challenge is the Canadian Swim Patrol program.

As always, we welcome your questions and feedback! For more information on our programs, please contact the Aquatics Centre at 403-938-8055.

Art as a Meditation | Brian Clute March 23 to April 29 | Small galleryMeditation can be described as having a steady mind. Usually it requires sitting very still and focusing on a singular idea such as breathing. Brian has applied this concept to his painting process. A small round brush applies layered, diminutive strokes on the canvas over a long period of time, resulting in the reduction of restlessness and speed, allowing the mind to become more even.
