Please make Delta Gamma part of your New Year resolutions to be more involved. There are so many ways to be part of our chapter through our meetings, special interest groups and volunteering. Please put Tables That Bloom, April 7 th on your calendar. It is a wonderful event, which received an award this summer at Delta Gamma Convention in Denver. The guest speaker for this year’s Tables That Bloom is Karen Elizabeth Watts who is a contributing writer for the Dallas Morning News. The easiest way to get to know more DG sisters is to volunteer for Tables That Bloom. Please contact Jennifer Westlake by e-mail at [email protected] to find out the many different volunteer opportunities in support of Tables That Bloom. Thanks to the Program Committee for planning another great year of programs. What DG doesn’t love chocolate, Founders Day and gardening? The start of the year is the time that our nominating committee begins the work to create a slate of officers. Consider an office on the board. Even if you have never been involved before, this is an excellent opportunity to be active in our alumnae group. There is no perfect time to be a board-member, all of us are very busy. I am glad that I made the decision to become more active. The friendships that I have made and the re-connections with fellow sisters are really priceless! So, if a sister from our nominating committee calls, really consider the opportunity to be part of our alumnae chapter. Thank you for the opportunity to serve for two-years as your President, it has been an honor to work with so many sisters who have many different DG passions but one main goal to make our Chapter the best! (grand)DauGhters of DGs!!Delta Gamma started the Anchor Girl: Dee Gee Legacy program a few years back.  There are MANY fun and exciting activities that we can do with our (grand)daughters to share with them the Delta Gamma spirit!  I offer a new interest group to any member out there with a legacy in her life:  (grand)DauGhters of DGs!!  Though we haven't held our first meeting yet, we hope to meet on weekends once a month and go on DG field trips of sorts.  Field trip ideas include visiting a rose garden and learning about the cream colored rose, decorating sailor hats, visiting a chapter house for tea/dinner, story time with Hannah, and perhaps something philanthropic like throwing a party for CCVI or visiting a guide dog organization.  All ages of legacies will be welcome and any programming ideas are welcome!  Please visit the Greater Kansas City Delta Gamma Facebook page for specific event details, or look for information in the email blasts sent out monthly.  -Ashley Thurston, [email protected]

Tired of seeing the same names and faces in your KC

DG alumnae newsletter every

year? Well the nominating committee is looking for new and interested DGs to get involved and help give the local alum group a new twist.  There are a variety of positions to choose from as well as a variety of time commitments.  It's a wonderful way to get to know your local DG sisters, or if you prefer, encourage a group of DGs that you are currently in contact with to get involved.  Plan now to visit one of the upcoming events and see how you can be a part of this wonderful group.

If interested in joining the DG

crew to help navigate its future voyages, contact Janise Kuechler Naughton (Mu) at

[email protected] or call her at

The Delta Gamma dues cycle is July 1 through June 30. There are two types of dues: Per Capita and Local. Per capita dues are collected by Executive Offices

(EO) and support Fraternity-wide initiatives such as the Anchora, starting new chapters, and developing technology

initiatives. Local dues stay in KC and support all the DG activities in the Greater KC area including printing, postage,

directories, programs and meetings, collumnae support, Panhellenic involvement, Foundation contributions, www.kcdg.org and this newsletter!

We encourage you to keep Delta Gamma at the forefront of the Greek world by paying both your per capita AND
