2007 is over, and what did we have to show? Plenty!

We’ve started off 2008 the same as any other year, wondering, “What canwe do this year?”

For now, we take a moment to reflect and wonder, “How did we do so muchlast year?”

The answer lies in a lot of hard work, perseverance, and enduring supportfrom all of our friends in the community. We thank you from the bottom ofour hearts, and wish you a wonderful New Year.

We showed what we made…. artwork wecreated…a dish we cooked on ourown…photographs we took… poems, stories,and essays we wrote.

We showed our talents.We debated, played chess,played a role on stage…played a role offstage. We sang, we danced, we strummed,we drummed.

We showed that we were good sports. Wetumbled and wrestled, golfed and rode

horses…We playedkickball, volleyball,

basketball, football,and soccer. Wejoined theFellowship ofChristianAthletes…We joinedthe campus

team…We started thecampus team.

We showed the livestock we raised!

We showed that we cared…We did service projects in thecommunity. We participated in Student Council

and Project Earth...went on missions trips...…helped someone on campus. We made afriend...We made amends.

We showed that we could. We were the Most Improved…We made theHonor Roll…We made some of the highest test scores we've ever had.We earned scholarships. We got into college...We went to college.

We showed offcertificates on thewall…trophies on theshelf…high schooldiploma in hand.

“I love what you do….”

Dear Amazing, Generous, Love Filled Family:

This was my 13th Christmas at Boys and Girls Country….and each year I think it cannot possibly bemore wonderful…and then it is! What makes it so wonderful is YOU…the outpouring of your interest,love, gifts, money, and blessings for the season…

Like you, I read many of the reports that come out each year telling you and me how to best discern ourcharitable giving. As I receive envelope after envelope asking for my gift, I also see charts and formulas,reports, recommendations, comparisons, and advice from those who slice and dice all the ways tomeasure an organization’s success. I believe in those analyses from the head, and Boys and GirlsCountry scores well….

But….what I hear from you most is not about our efficiency ratio or our annual report, it’s about yourheart…your impressions from a firsthand observation of our ministry. It’s how you feel about our

success with kids. It’s your appreciation for the work that takes place here, and the lives who are touched.

This year, over and over, as you sent your end of year gifts, you said, or emailed, or wrote notes that told us:• “I love what you do”• “I knew someone who was there…and it changed his life…”• “Every time I come there, I see the change in one child or another”• “I came by to see it for myself…and it was better than I thought it would be”• “I know you make a difference – I wish I could give more.”• “I like it that you treat your kids the same way we treat ours –that it’s normal, that you don’t give up on them.”• “We sold our house and we want to tithe it to help the kids there”• “I got more bonus than I expected, and I wanted to share it with you”• “I wish I’d known about Boys and Girls Country sooner….I knew a child who

really needed what you do”• “I work with someone who grew up there, and he talks about you all the time”

Whatever your reason, whatever touched your heart this year, THANK YOU from all of us. And come out for a visit in 2008….we’ll behere….
