ABOUT THE AUTHOR APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameshwaram, Madras He studied Physics and Aerospace Engineering He worked as an Aeronautical Engineer with DRDO and ISRO He is popularly known as the “Missile Man of India” for his work on development of

ballistic missile and space rocket technology. He was elected as 11th President of India in 2002 with the support of both the

ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Indian National Congress The Government of India has honoured him with some of the Highest civilian awards

like: Bharat Ratna Padma Bhushan Padma Vibhushan Doctor of Engineering Doctor of Science, etc.

“INDIA LOST A GEM” Missile Man of India Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam passes away on 27 July 2015

Kalam had a cardiac arrest while addressing students at the Indian Institute of Management in the Meghalaya state capital, Shillong.

He was giving speech on 'Creating a Livable Planet Earth‘

It was not only the topic of a lecture which he had just begun to deliver before the management students on that fateful day, but was also the subject of a book which he could not finish in his lifetime
