“Summer is just around the corner and this selection will be the perfect accompaniment to balmy summer dinners and weekend picnics. “This month we have two Chardonnays for you to sample. The first from Henley Hill is a traditional oaked style and the second from Tomich Hill is an unoaked, cool-climate wine. It is interesting to taste the difference between the styles. The unoaked wine also makes a nice change from Sauvignon Blanc as it is fresh and fruit-driven. Haselgrove in McLaren Vale is a Member favourite and this Viognier is full, rich and ideal with white meat. Orange is building a reputation for elegant whites and Penmara’s Riesling fits the bill. It will benefit from some time in the bottle. There is a traditional Hunter Semillon from one of the regions original pioneers, Drayton’s. The selection rounds off with a tropical fruit Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc ready for immediate consumption. “Be sure to re-order your favourites before they sell out.” Ian Walsh, Brand Ambassador & Tasting Panellist Code 23392 $143.00 per dozen Save 15% off the usual Member price when you re-order wines from this or any Regular Tasting Dozen. Awards: 3 BronzeHenley Hill Premium Vineyards is a 30 acre vineyard situated at Yarra Glen in the beautiful Yarra Valley wine region of Victoria. The Yarra Valley is famous for the Burgundian varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir as they are particularly suited to the cool-climate. Chardonnay is the Yarra Valley's most widely planted white grape variety.

Region: Yarra Valley, VictoriaColour: Pale straw with vibrant green tintsBouquet: Attractive cool climate characters of citrus and nectarine combine with hints

of minerality. The fine grained toasty oak is restrained and complements the fruit characters.

Palate: The palate is fine and long with attractive characters of stone fruit. Grilled nuts and cashew characters provide support to the wine. The wine finishes with fine acidity.

Cellar: Enjoy now Food match: Chicken Scallopini with mushroom cream sauceFrom our Wine Buyer:

This wine is from one of my favourite Chardonnay regions and is a complex drop with a little bit of bottle age, perfect for current drinking.

Established in 1981, Haselgrove Wines is now owned by four passionate Italian-Australian wine buffs. Haselgrove produce food-friendly red and white wines which are well balanced and of premium quality. They focus on small batch production, allowing the blending of small parcels of wine. Significantly, the small batch facilities allow the winemakers to separate their small parcels, displaying the terroir of the vineyard and seasonal variation in the bottle.

Region: McLaren Vale, South AustraliaColour: Straw with yellow huesBouquet: Floral nose with a touch of honeysucklePalate: Flavours of honeysuckle and apricots are complemented by a creamy texture on

the finish.Cellar: Drink now and over the next 2 yearsFood match: Chicken ChasseurFrom our Wine Buyer:

Penmara Wines is an exciting addition to the Australian viticultural landscape. Created towards the end of 2000, this unique winery was formed when five well-established, family-owned vineyards joined forces to gain greater control over winemaking and distribution activities. This wine has been sourced from Orange in NSW. The vineyard is situated approximately 880 metres above sea level and the cool growing climate contributes towards the complexity and elegance of the wine.

Region: Orange, New South WalesColour: Light green with pale huesBouquet: Vibrant with an array of fresh lime, lemon and apricot aromasPalate: The wine is refreshing with zingy, lively acidity. Flavours of lime and rose water

abound on a delicate yet generous palate. The wine finishes with great length and has beautiful fruit balance and persistence.

Whitecliff offers approachable, easy-drinking wines that have made them one of New Zealand's most preferred wines for over a decade. Recognised for offering excellent consistency from vintage to vintage, the winemakers source grapes from a number of vineyards and regions to ensure quality is maintained. Winemaking techniques that enhance the fruits’ natural characteristics are applied which results in the production of intense, fruity and full-flavoured wines.

Drayton's Family Wines is 100% family owned. The vineyards and winery are located on Oakey Creek Road, Pokolbin in the heart of Australia's premier wine producing region, the Hunter Valley. The Draytons are one of the Hunter Valley's pioneering winemaking families and it is one of the few companies that is still family owned and operated. This Semillon is made in the traditional Hunter style.

Region: Hunter Valley, New South WalesColour: In its youth it is straw with a slight green tinge. With 5-7 years bottle age it will

develop into a yellow/golden colour.Bouquet: Enticing lime citrus aromas in its youth. After some years rich toasty aromas develop. Palate: Initially an abundance of tropical flavour balanced by a lengthy acidic finish. As it

ages the palate weight will become full and thick. The overall complexity of the wine is distinguished by the layered rich and toasty aromas being balanced by the generous smoky flavours.

Cellar: Drink now and up to 2017 Food match: Char-grilled pork fillets served with spiced applesFrom our Wine Buyer:

This Semillon will be a delicious drink while young but if you have the patience it will also benefit with some cellaring.
