First, fold the A4 paper in half along the longest edge and cut on the folded line. Use one of the two pieces of paper to make a tube shape like the one in the picture, by gently rolling it and then secure it with some tape.
Now, draw two fins on the other piece of light blue paper. Cut them out and stick them to the bottom of the tube with some tape.
Cut two strips from each piece of coloured tissue paper, about 3cm wide and 40cm long. Stick them with some tape to the inside of the tube, leaving them to stream out like a tail. Then, stick on the googly eyes at the other end.

Next, take one of the pieces of string and secure each end with some tape at the front of the windsock to make a handle. Then tie the other piece of string to the handle at one end and to the stick at the other.

PEDAL'S RAINBOW FISH WINDSOCK
Sprint relays
can be even more fun
if you use a windsock
instead of a baton. It's
a great way to make sure
I get my 60 minutes of
exercise each day. Making
a windsock is really easy.
What will yours
look like?
Your rainbow fish windsock is ready! Take it for a run next time you go to the park and see its colourful tail dancing through the air.

Why not make more than one fish windsock? You can use them to play the relay game below.
How to play
1 One player from each team lines up behind the start line while the other team member lines up behind the half way line.
2 At the signal, the player at the start line runs as quickly as possible towards the other team member and passes the windsock to them.
3 The other player then runs on towards the finishing line. The team that reaches the finishing line first wins.
Getting readyYou will need: four or more players in teams of two, a fish windsock per team, anything you have at hand to mark the start, half way and finishing lines (for example pieces of string, twigs or stones).
