Operation of Window Shading Systems Several shade types were utilized for the Park House (Building One) project
• Manual roller shades
• Motorized roller Shades (Please see attached operation documentation)
In all categories, the mechanism is found within the roller tube and is inaccessible to users. Manual Chain Operated Shades
The shade is operated by gently pulling on the chain in a vertical motion to raise or lower the shade.
Pulling on the furthest section of chain will lower the shade and the closest section will raise the shade.
Anywhere along the length of the chain will achieve these results.
There is a preset upper stop limit and a lower stop limit which will prevent the bottom bar from going into
the shading system and from dropping beyond the lower level onto the window sill. The chain operated
system should be ONLY operated by the chain. The shade itself should not be handled and it should
never be pulled down by the bottom bar. Damages as a result of either shade handling will void the
warranty.
Maintenance Manual - Park House – Building One Roller Shades and Light Shelves are not greatly affected by dust and debris collecting on the surface as
the vertical and regular operation of the shades cause and dust to release. However the following
maintenance can be undertaken if necessary:
Fabric
The CS103 & CS101 fabric can be dusted using a clothing brush or vacuum. In the event that the fabric
becomes stained or soiled a soft cloth moistened with lukewarm mild soapy water can be used, and the
stain gently scrubbed away. The fabric should be left unrolled to dry. If commercial spot cleaners are
used, they must first be tested and allowed to dry on an inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility. The
fabric must always be supported from the back when applying pressure on the front to clean.
Exposed Aluminum Extrusions
All exposed aluminum extrusions should never be cleaned with chemicals. Proper cleaning is done with
a soft cloth moisten in lukewarm mild soapy water.
Fundamental Cleaning
The fundamental cleaning should be undertaken by an expert. Depending on the degree of dirt and the
colour of the fabric, a fundamental cleaning is advisable every 4 or 5 years

Thermal Efficiency Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC)When sunlight hits a window some of the solar energy is transmitted through (Solar Transmittance Ts), some is reflected back (Solar Reflectance Rs) and some is absorbed by the glass and sun screen (Solar Absorption As). Some of the absorbed heat will flow into the building. SHGC represents the amount of solar energy that penetrates the glass and fabric. Values closer to 0 indicate more effective blockage of solar heat entering the building.
Light Transmittance Visual Transmittance (Tv)The percentage of total visible solar energy passing through a sun control fabric. The higher the number, the more visible light will penetrate into the interior, the greater the glare.
VisibilityDarker colours have a lower Tv value, and a higher As value, providing better outward visibility.

SG BI-DIRECTIONAL MOTORProgramming Instructions
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
1. Ensure motor is protected. Any damages during transportation, storage, installation or misuse can cause the motor to not work properly.
2. Charge the motor every 6 months to ensure optimal performance.
3. If the battery charge is at a lower level, the motor will beep 10 times to prompt that it needs to be charged.
4. Maximum running time of the motor is 6 minutes without limits. Motor will be asleep after six minutes has passed. Motor will still be in wake up/programming mode once the motor has restarted.
MOTOR INFORMATION
Programming resides with the motor. Each motor can store up to 20 copied channels.
IF PURCHASING MORE THAN ONE CHARGER, PLEASE ENSURE THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE ON THE CHARGER AND MOTOR MATCH.
To recharge the motor’s battery, connect the SG DC charger to the motor head charging jack and plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet. When the battery is fully charged, the indication light on the charger will switch from red to green. You can also use the SG Solar Panel to keep the battery constantly charged while exposed to sufficient sunlight.
