SPECIAL EVENTSMommy and Me Play DateBirth – Preschool AgeFridays, 10:00am, Main PlaygroundConnect with other Windgate mothers (or caregivers) who have children – birth through pre-school age for a weekly play date. There are a lot of young children in our community and this is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, watch your children interact and play with other children in the community, and foster lifelong friendships. No RSVP needed, just show up!

Annual Holiday PartyThursday, December 36:00pm – 9:00pm, Outdoor Living RoomThis years theme is “Most Outrageous Holiday Sweater”. Prizes will be awarded for different categories. This year’s menu will include hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, slider bar (3 different kinds), mashed potato bar, pasta stations, and dessert. Beer and wine for the adults. Kids can visit the Teen Center where they can get their face painted by elves, make a craft and enjoy a candy buffet. Santa and Ms. Claus will be here to greet the kids (be sure to bring your cameras). DJ and Carolers from Voices Studio will be entertaining. Enjoy horse drawn carriage rides. $20 per adult, $15 per child. Guests are $25 each. Please purchase wristbands by 11/30.

Neighborhood Play Date @ the ParkAll Ages. Saturday, December 12 10:00am, Bandstand Lawn/Main PlaygroundA Windgate child came up with this idea – let’s meet in the park, bring games, and get to know each other. No RSVP needed, just show up!

Poker NightFriday, December 188:00pm, Teen Center$10 buy-in tournament games, (about an hour each), then cash games. $40 total should cover your play for the evening. You are encouraged to bring a snack to share. BYOB if you wish. Join us even if you don’t want to play poker – just hang out. Please RSVP by 12/17 if you’d like to participate.

Winter Break Sport & Activity CampBoys and Girls Ages 5 -14Monday – Thursday, December 28 – 31 8:30am – 12:30pm or 8:30am – 3:00pmTeen Center. Hosted by the professional Simply Sports organization (camp,soccer and swim programs), the camp will provide your child with an incredible experience. The camp is designed to combine traditional sports, innovative team games,

leadership activities, crafts and fun with water. $110 for 1/2 day camp, $150 full day. Daily drop ins available too. To register pick up a form in The Club or contact Simply Sports at 480-585-7684 or visit the website at www.SimplySports.org.

Kids Snow DaySaturday, January 9, 9:00am – 11:00amThe Park across the street from The Club We’re bringing the snow to Scottsdale! Kids will have the opportunity to enjoy the Mammoth Snow Slide and take a quick thrill ride. There will also be 2 areas to play in the snow – one area for kids under 5 and one for kids 6 and over. We’ll also have special snow games for the kids. There will be 2 breakfast food trucks to purchase items. We will provide coffee, juice and hot chocolate. Cost is $5 per person. Please purchase wristbands in The Club by 1/6.

Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America Draft TestSaturday, January 16 & Sunday, January 179:00am, Bandstand Event LawnThe Grand Canyon State Bernese Mountain Dog Club based in Phoenix is hosting a Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America Draft Test here at Windgate Ranch. The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America Draft Tests are a series of exercises designed to develop and demonstrate the natural abilities of purebred Bernese Mountain Dogs in a working capacity involving hauling. The Bernese Mountain Dog has historically functioned as a draft dog in various capacities, and performance of these exercises is intended to demonstrate skills resulting from both inherent ability and training which are applicable to realistic work situations. Efficiency in accomplishment of tasks is essential. It is also desirable that the dog evidence willingness and enjoyment of his work in a combination of controlled teamwork with his handler and natural independence. The first team should be in the ring and showing around 9AM. Bring your lawn chairs and/ or blankets and enjoy the show! No RSVP required.

Brown Bag Wine TastingSaturday, January 235:00pm – 7:00pm, Member’s ClubLet’s uncork and unwind. Now that the kids are settled in with school and their activities, you deserve an adults only evening! Please bring 2 bottles of wine (the same kind) to share. The choice is yours – it can be inexpensive, rare & unique, etc. Please bring paper bags to l “disguise” each bottle so no one knows exactly what they are sampling. Everyone will sample 1 ounce of each wine brought, then vote for their top 3 favorites. After the ‘unveiling of the wines” the top 3 in both white and red categories will receive a gift card to Total Wine. Assorted cheese, fruit and chocolates will be served. The cost is $8 per person plus 2 bottles of wine (2 bottles per couple and 2 bottles for singles). If you are brining white wine to share, please make sure it is chilled. Please purchase wristbands in The Club by 1/20. Hurry – space is limited to the first 50 RSVP’s. Please, adults only.

Super Bowl Potluck PartySunday, February 74:00pm – 8:00pm, Member’s ClubThis is our 7th Annual Super Bowl Party and you don’t want to miss out on the fun. We’ll supply the beer, soda and water and ask that you provide a dish to share. There will be a sports bouncie for the kids. If you’d like to join us, please RSVP by 2/5.

MONTHLY CLASSESMen’s and Women’s Fitness Boot CampMondays, Wednesdays and Fridays5:45am – 6:45am and/or 9:00am – 10:00amBandstand Event LawnYou are invited to join this Boot Camp class offered by Giant Strides Fitness of Scottsdale! The classes are designed for total body conditioning, and include strength and body toning exercises using resistance bands, jump ropes, and medicine balls. You may join in the classes at any time. Fee is $75 for 10 sessions. Giant Strides Fitness also offers a monthly hiking group for beginners and experienced hikers. Boot Camp is a unique program because it will be tailored to your specific strengths and abilities. It’s never too late to begin a Giant Strides fitness program! Lessons are carefully designed to ignite the imagination, foster creativity and develop new skills. Each program (7-9 weeks duration) is delivered once a week in a 45 minute teaching class at convenient locations and times across metropolitan Phoenix by caring, enthusiastic and professional coaches. The goal of the program is to promote having fun while developing the child’s gross motor skills, increasing self esteem, and encouraging group social skills. Participants should wear t-shirts, shorts, sneakers and wear shinguards for safety. In addition, they should also bring a size 3 soccer ball and plenty to drink. $129 Per child. Each program (7-9 weeks duration) is delivered once a week in a 45 minute teaching class at convenient locations and times across metropolitan Phoenix by caring, enthusiastic and professional coaches. The goal of the program is to develop the child’s soccer technique and skills through structured activities and games. Emphasis is placed on developing games from 1v1’s. 2v2’s and development into 3v3 and 4v4 games. Participants should wear t-shirts, shorts, sneakers and wear shinguards for safety. In addition, they should also bring a size 4 soccer ball and plenty to drink. $129 Per child. Minimum of 8 needed to conduct program. Monday “Tennis Camp” is an opportunity for your child, ages 7+ to get exercise, meet friends and learn to play tennis in a fun setting. Each class on Monday will focus on one or more of the fundamental strokes of tennis: forehand, backhand, volley, serve and overhead while mixing in

games and drills designed to increase agility, balance and coordination. As skills develop, we build and expand on fundamental stroke development while introducing scoring and strategy

designed to enhance their athletic performance. Beginners to Intermediate players are welcome. Children may be grouped according to age and skill level when appropriate.
