Working With Winchelsea (WWW) is proud to come on board as the newest auspice group of Winchelsea Community House. Working collaboratively with Community groups and organi- sations to make Winchelsea a better place to live, the WWW group have some exciting projects in place which include the production of a Community Directory , which lists all the Groups and Businesses within the town. The Group has established and supports the Winchelsea Primary School Mentor Program , helping to provide an- other level of support to Grade 6 students transitioning to Year 7. They have established the very successful “Bus to the Hub” program, which, along with other Community partners, runs every Thursday night and serves as a social event for those who are, for various reasons, unable to venture out in the evenings. We are currently involved with “ Winch Rocks the Quarry to be held in February. Our partner in this is the Winchelsea Golf Club. This event is being planned as a Family Fun Day at the Golf Club. WWW are currently developing their own website to help keep the Community in touch with the progress of their pro- jects. February 2014 The Wensleydale Rural Community Group participated in the national Garage Sale Trail on Saturday 26 th October. The group sale was held at the Wurdale Hall, Winchelsea South. The aim of the Garage Sale Trail is to hold garage sales nationally on the one day and promote reuse, reduce waste to landfill and connect com- munities. A variety of items were for sale in- cluding furniture, jewellery, clothing, fresh flowers, bric-a- brac and other household goods. Thanks to all the buyers and sellers who participated on the day! From the Wensleydale Rural Community Group The Winchelsea Men’s Shed — by David Kellas The Winchelsea Men’s Shed is a community facility where men choose to meet, socialise, work on Community Projects and operate fundrais- ing events within our town. We are a no profit organisation, auspice under Winch House and are proud to say that we are Drug and Alcohol free, non discriminatory and welcome new members. Our members meet at the shed at 51 Hesse Street every Wednesday at 10am and every second Saturday morning. Thanks to counsellor Rod Nockles and his crew we now have the avail- ability of the ‘Do Care Bus’ one day per month. So our members have been enjoying bus trips to Ballarat, Melbourne and last week, a fishing trip in Queenscliff. So there are more exciting things happening in the Men’s Shed than workshop projects and fundraising!! This year has been successful for us all, at the Men’s Shed, with lots of projects completed within our Community, and we feel proud that we have the support of the residents in Winchelsea and district. Next Years Calender is filling up nicely, with bus trips organised, sausage sizzles, social events, garage sales, and projects to benefit the whole Winchelsea Community. Career Course Guide 2014 Diploma in youth Work (CHC51408)

This qualification covers people for the development

and outcomes of programs and services for young

people managed through a range of agencies and de-

signed to meet the social, behavioural, health, welfare, de-

velopmental and protection needs of young people. This

work may be undertaken through employment in commu-

nity, government and welfare agencies. Examples of some

occupational titles may include Case Manager, Co-

ordinator of Youth Services, Program Manager, Senior Case

Worker, and Senior Youth Worker.

This qual. cover workers in children's services who

are responsible for planning, implementing and man-

aging programs in early childhood services, in accor-

pervision of staff and volunteers. Examples of some occupa-

tional titles include Centre Manager, Childhood Education

Manager, Early Childhood Advisor, Director, and Program

This Certificate IV course is essential for people who

wish to develop their skills in the design, delivery,

and assessment of vocationally based training. It also

qualifies you to deliver nationally accredited voca-

tional training in TAFE’s, private and enterprise

based training organisations as well as in secondary schools

with vocational programs. Dates TBA Term 2

use well developed skills and a broad knowledge base

Receptionist, Office Administration Assistant, Word Process-

mously. Examples of some titles include early childhood

educator, Playgroup supervisor, Family day Care Worker,

This course is a more in-depth program for people

Day: Tuesday Duration: 1x7hr day

First Aid—Level 2 (includes CPR refresher)

This is a national qualification, accepted Australia

wide. This certificate is valid for 3 years upon

completion. CPR is however only valid for 12

months.

This course meets the requirements for work places
