PFI ContractsLevel 2Level 1Contractor 2Contractor 1

PFI ContractsManaging the day-to-day operational delivery of a PFI contract, in-line with the agreed SLA contract terms, is a real administrative day-to-day challenge for most PFI Trust. Each contract will its numerous sections and clauses with each clause relating to the condition of service at the individual elements level, the area level, the ward level and the hospital as a whole. These clauses specify the expectations pertaining to quality and if there is an issue and according to the risk categorisation, how quickly the issue must be rectified. Failure to comply can result in a PFI contractor being penalised but more importantly in can result in a drop of quality within the patient environment. To add to this challenging environment within this complex framework, different contractors are often responsible for different services - so one contractor might be responsible for cleaning the floor, and another for ensuring the right heating of a building of medical equipment are in place.

Performance Consistency?

Managing PFI ContractsProviders, when left to report on their own performance, might paint a 'rosy' picture, which can be difficult for a Trust to verify due to the amount of administrative work involved.Manual paper based monitoring processes can be very challenging and time consuming both to conduct, in tracking issues and in resolving disputed claims. In addition, if there is no agreement with the suppliers about how performance will be measured - practically - then Trust and suppliers might report performance in incompatible ways. .

(animation 0-1) How it works... Both the PFI service requirements along with a hospitals layout are developed into a checklist solution made accessible using Mobile Handheld devices (currently Android tablets - but it could be anything) which are then used for auditing the state of an area in accordance with the PFI service terms, completely replacing the traditional time consuming and inefficient ... pen and pad approach.

(animation 2- 4)Visual inspection are performed on the mobile checklist are things how they should be - simply indicating yes/noIn the event of a NO- the solution will present a set of Trust/PFI predefined remedial actions which the user selects to address the problemThe user also has the ability to type in their own follow-up action.

(animation 5-6)Joints audits can be conducted with representatives from the PFI and Trust being present and approving the completed audit at the point of discovery. This joint approval process will greatly reduce future discrepancies.

(animation 7-11) A completed audit is now uploaded to the Cloud for processing in line with the agreed SLA metrics,The solution will automatically send instructions to the relevant PFI staff informing them of the precise locations of the problems, what problems are, what remedial actions need to be administered and the rectification period, for example two hours to address each problemThe time available until remedial action is taken is calculated based on the agreed PFI service termsFollow-up alerts are sent to Trust staff so that they can go, using their mobile device and verify that outstanding actions have been completed.

(animation 11 end) All required reports providing a complete view of the status of a Hospital, a location, a ward right down to a particular area are automatically made IMMEDIATELY available one and audit has been approved and updated.Everybody related to delivery gets a shared one view of what is being done - a single version of the truth. Data is easy to read, easy to share.
