The opening ceremony performances will be a creative expression of the rich, ancient and vibrant diversity of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, intrinsic to our nation’s identity.
• Journey with us and explore the beginning of the World Indigenous Network.
• Meet our MCs—World Indigenous Network National Advisory Group co-chair Melissa George and actor and activist Chaske Spencer of the Lakota Sioux Tribe.
• Watch traditional dancers take to the stage, welcoming you to Darwin and beginning our discussion.
• Hear about the beginning of the WIN journey from Wayne Bergmann, Indigenous rights advocate and driver of social change.
• Be inspired by innovation advocate Anil Gupta, who created the Honey Bee Network to support grassroots innovators who are rich in knowledge, but not in resources.
• And share your story with other land and sea managers from around the world.
evening activity— minDil Beach marketsThere will be a limited shuttle bus service from the conference venue to Mindil Beach Markets. The markets are an iconic Darwin activity with food stalls and more than a hundred arts stalls. relax and unwind close to the beach.

From 5 pm to 5.45 pm from the conference venue to the markets.
Shuttle bus pickup from the Mindil Markets
From 7.30 pm to 8.15 pm to return delegates to accommodation.
Mindil Beach is the closest beach to the central part of Darwin. You can walk there from Darwin city centre or take a bus no. 4 or 6.

Welcome to Darwin and the World Indigenous Network Conference 2013. The registration and information desk is located on the ground floor near the Darwin Convention Centre entrance.
