Day 1: sunDay 26 may 2013 2 pm—opening ceremony of the world indigenous network conferenceDArWIN CoNvENTIoN CENTrE AuDITorIuM

The opening ceremony performances will be a creative expression of the rich, ancient and vibrant diversity of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, intrinsic to our nation’s identity.

• Journey with us and explore the beginning of the World Indigenous Network.

• Meet our MCs—World Indigenous Network National Advisory Group co-chair Melissa George and actor and activist Chaske Spencer of the Lakota Sioux Tribe.

• Watch traditional dancers take to the stage, welcoming you to Darwin and beginning our discussion.

• Hear about the beginning of the WIN journey from Wayne Bergmann, Indigenous rights advocate and driver of social change.

• Be inspired by innovation advocate Anil Gupta, who created the Honey Bee Network to support grassroots innovators who are rich in knowledge, but not in resources.

• And share your story with other land and sea managers from around the world.
