WILLIAM PENN’S CHILDHOOD William Penn was born in 1644 a in a happy home in London. William grew up strong and sturdy, but he also was liked for many things because he was always fair, honest, and a good sport. He did so well learning his lessons that when he was sixteen years old he was ready to go to a great school at Oxford. William got kicked out of Oxford because he did not wear his robe. Also when he was little he loved to go to Quaker meetings.

William’s Dream

William wanted everyone to be equal because he did not think it was fair that people in England were ruled by the King Of England and he did not think it was fair that the King Of England owned the land of Pennsylvania when the land really belonged to the Indians and also he did not think it was fair that he was suppose to where robes when he was little, but he did not want to where one. Also William thought no man should bow to anotherman. An Indian that lived on the land of Pennsylvania

IMPORTANT THINGS THAT WILLIAM PENN FOR PENNSYLVANNIAWilliam wanted land more then he wanted his money back from the king, so he told all sorts of citizens to come to Pennsylvania to have religious freedom and to not need to pay debts. Also he became friends with the Indians who first settled in Pennsylvania because he told them that this is really the Indians land because they were the first ones there. Also William gave the Indians items to show that all the trouble they went through they should get something. Also, he was nice enough to go back to England to try to get the people to come to Pennsylvania, so they can have religious freedom. William Penn made the roads nice and organized because he didn’t want the roads to be all over the place in Pennsylvania.

WILLIAM PENN’S LATER LIFE

William wanted to go back to England from Pennsylvania because he thought that he should help the people who are still ruled by the king in England and let them have freedom in Pennsylvania, so William was in England trying to help the people he got put in jai and when he was in jail , he died because he was getting old. William died in 1718 at the age of 74. So after he died his wife, Hannah, took over Pennsylvania then his sons took over after their mom.
