‘ William Harvey house is a luxurious home from home in central London – we loved it.’

William Harvey House (houses 9 and 10, St Andrews Place) was designed and built in 1826 by the architect John Nash (1752–1835). This was a period of distinctive trends not only in British architecture, but also in literature, fashion, politics and culture.

In May 1974 the houses in the precinct of St Andrews Place, occupied by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), were Grade I listed.

In October 2011 the accommodation at Houses 9 and 10 reopened after major refurbishment. The restoration and decoration were influenced by the historical context, the structure of the building itself and the operational brief. However, the real ambition was to create a welcoming and comfortable ‘home from home’ in the heart of London.

The accommodation was re-named William Harvey House in memory of the eminent physician.

Although slightly smaller than the superior parksides they still retain the same features and sense of luxury. The compact en-suite marble bathrooms consist of walk-in showers with large rain showerheads.

Four of the Parkside rooms can comfortably accommodate families of up to four people. All the rooms feature a writing desk, armchair, flat-screen television, climate controlling units, bespoke furnishings, bath robes and slippers. n
