If you’re curious about what your WildHorse home may be worth, here’s an easy way to nd out what

My name is Jennifer Winslow and I am your newest HOA Board Member. I have lived in San Antonio and Wildhorse for the last 7 years but am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 27 years and have a fantastic son who lives in Austin. My husband is a retired Air Force MSgt and this has afforded us the luxury of living and traveling all over this great country of ours. We have even had the opportunity to live abroad a couple of times. When my husband retired a few years ago, we decided to call San Antonio “home”. I currently am a Supervisor in the Accounting Department at Security Service Federal Credit Union. In this role I lead, mentor, and coach a small but dynamic group of employees while ensuring we provide superior service to our membership.

During my tenure at SSFCU, I have been an active member of our “Volunteer Corp”. I have been involved in events for such worthwhile causes as United Way, San Antonio Food Bank, American Red Cross, and Habitat for Humanity to name a few. Additionally, while we were

stationed in Aviano, Italy, I was a Board Member for the “Aviano Community Enlisted Spouses” group. During my three year term on the Board, I held the position of Publicity Chairperson for one of those years.

I trust that my professional experience in Business & Finance as well as my current and previous volunteering experiences will aid in my quest to make Wildhorse a truly wonderful community for all residents. Although I am currently only fulfilling a vacated position that will expire in March, I will give 110% while working on behalf of the residents during this short term. When my time expires, I will reflect on what accomplishments/improvements I was able to facilitate and decide at that time whether I will run for re-election. If I feel worthy, I will be asking for your support and vote. If not, I will step aside giving someone else the opportunity to serve our community.

Thank you all and I look forward to serving on your Board!

Greetings Fellow Wildhorse Residents,

This month we will be discussing the Social Committee. The Social Committee is responsible for putting together fun activities to bring the community together. The Social Committee currently consists of ten members and is being co-chaired by Suzanne Patrick and Courtney Hanes, but there is plenty of room for more!

Suzanne has been a member of the community since June of this year but was eager to jump in and become an active member of the community! The length of residency of the other members varies greatly, but they all have the same goals in mind.

The most important point we would like to drive home is that this committee is striving to appeal to everyone in the community, residents of any age, with or with children in an effort to bring greater unity to our large and ever-growing community.

Some of the events the Social Committee has planned for the near future include a Wildhorse Holiday Party on December 1st, a Morning with Santa on December 8th and Best Decorated House for the Holidays Contest. Details for these events can be found elsewhere in this month’s newsletter. Other event ideas include a stroller walking group and trips to local attractions, or even bringing local experts to the community for workshops such as a representative from the Botanical Gardens to discuss planting and gardening.

Planning for 2013 is currently under way. If you have an idea for an event or would like to chair an event please contact the Suzanne or Courtney through the Social Committee email, social@wildhorsecommunitycom.

When it comes to a committee where fresh ideas are always needed and welcomed, you can never have too many committee members. Of course, volunteers are always needed and welcomed to help with the events already listed. If this sounds like a committee you’d like to be a part of, please contact Suzanne or Courtney, as co-chairs they are valuable resources to make an event happen.

Considering Listing Your Home During the Holidays? There are many good reasons...

With fewer homes for sale there is less competition for buyers. And you

may receive more money for your home because you have less competition.

Winter shoppers are more serious. You may have fewer actual showings,

but those showings are to more qualified and motivated buyers.

Buyers have more time to look at homes during the holidays.

January is traditionally the biggest transfer month, and you must be on the market to capture that market.

When you sell during the winter you have an opportunity to buy during

spring, when many homes are on the market.

Your home looks great when decorated for the holidays!
