Developing the Critical Skills to Lead with Confidence and CharismaTo be successful and to reach senior positions within any career demands a certain set of leadership abilities. Building these skills and traits will develop an individual into a strong and assertive leader. Confidence is one attribute which needs to be established to endorse feisty and successful leadership. Confidence is therefore a vital element for female leaders to advance. It is Loretta Brown and Aly McNicoll’s proposition that confidence and leadership grows as result of action, passion and connection. This workshop will accelerate your leadership success by providing personal strategies to build and project confidence. It will also provide proactive advice, critical skills and strategies to optimise your potential as a leader. In this workshop, Loretta and Aly will explore:

• The hidden secrets of confidence that few women know

• Proactive advice on how to overcome imposter syndrome and the key to achieving authentic leadership

• Skills required to better position yourself for success

• Detecting competing commitments that may be holding you back and the tools to overcome these challenges

• Understanding workplace bias and the strategies to successfully navigate it

• Asserting yourself and having the confidence to take necessary risks

• New ways of leading effectively that can make a big impact in today’s busy and demanding times

• Creating an effective and practical leadership plan

It is a well known fact that women remain critically under-represented within senior executive leadership. A greater female participation helps to enhance diversity and has been proven to be a key component for better business outcomes. The corporate world has seen a slight increase in senior female leaders in recent years but this current growth is not sufficient to attain the benefits provided by gender diversity.

In order to increase the number of women represented in senior executive leadership it is essential to equip aspiring leaders with the distinct tools for leadership success. Women must be able to identify the opportunities for career advancement, build supportive networks, remain resilient through change, and continuously cultivate their crucial leadership skills.

The 2nd Annual Women in Leadership Summit 2015 will offer an inspiring, learning and networking platform. The event aims to provide existing and emerging female leaders with the strategies and skills required to excel in their careers.
