JANUARY 15th to 24th 2014 9 Days Trip
(Tentative dates until flights checked in early January)
Trip Objective• We have put together an exciting itinerary That will provide you with a real
feel for The Gambia and it’s culture, along with the opportunity to meet and work with the Gambian women that GWI have been working with.
• This is a service project so each participant can if they like work with a partners(s) to prepare a module that can be shared with the women. In the past we have presented modules on such topics as cleanliness, basic nutrition, basic business principles, product diversification, leadership and basic medical help.
• Trip starts from Banjul, The Gambia on January 15, ends January 24th (Tentative dates until flights checked on early January)
• Cost approx $2,600 - double occupancy- single occupancy possible.• Deposit $250 by April 15th ( no return on deposit) final amount, $2,350 by
October 1st. .
• Limited to 10 Participants
Tentative ItineraryWill be customized based to extent possible on group interest
• Day 1 arrive in Banjul in the evening stay in local hotel• Day 2 Relax at hotel visit local craft market, get acclimatized to
local culture, • Day 3 Visit women in Somita• Day 4 Visit Lamin Lodge-nature excursion, visit with women
dignitaries• Day 5 Visit and work with women in Sifoe move to Sandele• Day 6 Visit and work with women in Sifoe• Day 7 Relax at Sandele- fishing village excursion• Day 8 Visit women in Bandjaluling• Day 9 Visit women in Bandjaluling leave at night

Not included• Air fare to the Gambia ( on your own to
book flight, If all 10 want to go together we may get a group rate)
approx $2000 best flight Brussels Airline JFK to Banjul. Everyone must be in Banjul on the designated day. If you want to add on additional vacation it will be up to you to organize.
• Visa ( $100)• Trip insurance• Medical evacuation insurance , strongly
recommended (approx $100)• Drinks in hotels and restaurants• Some tip money ( will get tip fund at
beginning of trip and Carol will beresponsible for administering all tips)
Pre-work for trip• We will have 3 pre-meetings for
this trip. Two for those who do not want to participate in service. Three for those who want to develop a service module.
• Meeting 1 Overview of Gambian culture, what to expect, service discussion- what skills do people have, how would they like to use their skills – Mid May
Meeting 2• Developing modules
for sharing with the women. There will be HW! Late June
• Meeting 3 Finalizing modules. Final logistics of the trip. Late November
