COMPANY STRUCTURE
Wikov Gear s.r.o., based in Pilsen - Czech Republic, produces robust gearboxes for heavy industry, turbo gears for power generation, special gearboxes for the mining, cement and oil&gas industry, Klingelnberg type bevel gears up to 1050 mm, profi le ground wheels up to 2600 mm and gear pins up to 5000 mm.
Wikov MGI a.s., based in Hronov – Czech Republic, produces besides standard industrial gearboxes, special gear units for different industrial applications, particularly for wind and tidal turbines, hydro power plants, rail vehicles, rubber compounds mixers and ships.
ORBITAL2 Ltd, Leamington Spa – Great Britain, works as a development and design offi ce. It is here where new ideasmainly from the fi eld of design of epicyclic gear units, transformed into innovative technological solutions, come to life.

DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION
We exercise a creative approach towards identifying the best solutions and addressing specifi c technical needs of ourclients. Our goal is constant development of products with a higher level of functional and quality parameters. We propose optimal solutions on the basis of existing expertise in every scope of application.
Everything starts with a concept, an idea. This idea then takes a shape and is outlined in the form of a draft. Later,during discussion, we search for understanding of correlations within the whole application. Thanks to our state-of-the-artcomputing and drawing programmes, we are able to give this idea its precise size and shape. PRODUCTS
We offer helical, bevel-helical, high-speed, epicyclic andspecial gearboxes in a wide range of sizes, transmittedpowers, gear ratios and output shaft types. Accordingto client request and operating conditions, we are able toprovide gearboxes with the most appropriate lubricating and cooling aggregate.
STANDARD HELICAL and BEVEL-HELICAL GEARBOXESare the most all-purpose solutions in industrial mixers, cranes, wire-drawing machines, belt conveyors, cooling towers, with minimal modifi cation in calenders, extruders, mixers, rolling mills, etc. 1, 2, 3 or 4-stage confi guration reaches a gear ratio of iN = 1 – 560 and a maximum torque output M2 ≤ 860 kNm.
SPECIAL GEARBOXES FOR RAIL VEHICLES in various modifi cations, e.g. one stage bevel hypoid axle drive, bevel-helical axle drive, helical drive with hollow shaft setting, bevel fi nal drive for 100% low fl oor trams, etc.

STANDARDNÍ ČELNÍ A KUŽELOČELNÍ PŘEVODOVKYmají nejuniverzálnější použití, v průmyslových mísičích, jeřábech, drátotazích, pásových dopravnících či chladících věžích, s minimální úpravou pak v pohonech kalandrů, extruderů, hnětičů, válcovacích tratí, atd. 1, 2, 3 nebo 4 stupňové uspořádání dosahuje převodového poměru iN = 1 - 560. Maximální výstupní moment M2 ≤ 860 kNm.

TURBO GEAR UNITSare designed for use in power generation industry to drivegenerators, compressors and various auxiliary systems.1 or 2-stage setting with gear ratio iN = 1 – 20 and a maximumoutput moment M2 ≤ 300 kNm. With a speed up to30000 rpm and maximum velocity of 200 m/s.
SPECIAL EPICYCLIC GEAR UNITSfor wind and tidal turbines or cement mill drives with relatively small installation dimensions, they reach high gear ratios while transmitting considerable power.We are able to manufacture up to 4-stage planetary gearboxes with gear ratio up to iN = 2800. Maximum torqueoutput M2 ≤ 900 kNm.
GEARBOXES FOR SPECIAL USEWikov is capable to design and produce gearboxes with multiple output shafts, equipped with optional gear shifting or in a non-standard setting, gearboxes for extreme conditions or any other up to 100 t weight. Among this category belong gearboxes for water turbines, cement plants, mining applications, drilling rigs, handling equipment and propeller drives, etc.
SERVICEWikov service specialists provide expert assistance duringinstallation and are experienced in carrying out maintenancechecks – inspection, planned or emergency. Wikov servicespecialists are able to be on site within 48 hours.

TECHNOLOGY
Signifi cant investments in machine and technology equipment give us the unique edge in our fi eld.
We have at our disposal state-of-the-art CNC technology, from lathes, vertical lathes, machining centres, horizontaland vertical boring machines, hobbers, to profi le grinding machines.
We produce ground wheels up to 3500 mm in diameter. Profi le grinding machines allow grinding with high accuracyof up to 2600 mm in diameter of gear wheel. We are able to grind internal gearing up to 2400 mm in external diameterof gear rim.
We keep complete technology of bevel spiral gearing production up to 1050 mm in diameter.
The processes of heat and chemical-heat treatment provided by Wikov represent annealing, gas carburising, nitridingin ammonia atmosphere, oil and water quenching, press quenching and tempering treatment.

CERTIFICATION
Our products are verifi ed by the use of the latest inspection procedures and computer controlled measuring technology. The MERLIN 1100 and WENZEL LHF 3020-40 measure the box components. The gear teeth we check by the use of the Klingelnberg P100, P300 machine. Magnetic and capillary testing is used for component inspection for crack occurrence. The heat treatment results are tested in the mechanical laboratory by use of the Leco instrument. Ground surfaces after heat treatment process are checked for grinding burns by Rollscan 300 device. The noise and vibrations of the boxes of the gears are measured through the use of equipment from the Bruel+Kjaer and Adash fi rms. Our metrology laboratory is equipped with a ZEISS microscope with digital picture processing.
In our test room we test gearboxes without or with load. Gear units designed for cold climate conditions we control in our cooling chamber.
Wikov is certifi ed according to ISO 9001:2008 by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance and Bureau Veritas QualityInternational for: design, development, manufacturing, sales and service of gears, gear boxes and engineering product for wind energy.
In addition inspection for acceptance of our gear boxes can also be by undertaken other third parties such as DNV, LRS,GL, ABS and KR.
