WIKILEAKS• Wikileaks was founded on 4th October
2006 by Australian internet activist Julian Assange. Within the first year or its launch Wikileaks claimed over 1.2 million documents. Wikileaks relies heavily upon volunteers ranging mathematicians, network engineers and journalists.

• According to the website the main aim is to ‘’bring important news and information to the public’. All information uploaded is done securely and anonymously to prevent journalists from being jailed for emailing classified documents.
Egypt ‘turned down’ black-market nuclear weapons deal’
Egypt was offered nuclear weapons, expertise and material on the black market according to an Egyptian diplomat. However this incident increases suspicious over what nuclear sales were made by other states in the 1990’s in Russia and former Soviet republics.
Secret plan to push Mugabe out Zimbabwe
• According to US documents, pressure from the UN secretary general had planned to remove Robert Mugabe in a bloodless coup out of Zimbabwe. The US embassy could not comment on the plan that Zimbabwean businessman had devised.

investigation of Russian mafia’s . This was sparked after the execution of Phase I of Op Troika which resulted in the arrest of the top 20 leaders of Russia’s crime family. Spain had served the mafia was ‘safe heaven’ from authorities.

US diplomats spied on UN leadership
• US diplomats were ordered to gather intelligence on Ban Ki-moon under Hillary Clinton’s name in 2009. Secret directives were sent to over 30 US embassies, demanding forensic details about communication systems used by UN officials.
Jamaican officials accepting bribes
Jamaican officials being bribed to give drug traffickers free rein across the Caribbean. Jamaican police were accused of delaying a manhunt for Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke due to corrupt politicians. These accusations will strengthen the suspicions that drug lords have bought the co-operation of Jamaican politicians and law enforcers.

was relived of his duties August 4 after the pending conclusion of the cocaine trafficking investigation. Despite a close family connection to one of the accused Sesay still insists his innocence.

MI5 offered files on Finucane killing
• Leaked dispatches strengthen Finucanes family demand on the inquiry into the collusion between security forces and UFF gunmen . Mi5 are prepared to hand over sensitive files on high profile murders. Pat Finucanes was murdered in front of his wife and 3 young children in 1989.
Afghan contempt for British military
• President Hamid Karzai criticise UK failure to impose security and engage with Afghans. The US embassy cables also reveal high level corruption in Afghan government including vice-president carrying $52m in his suitcase when stopped at Dubai airport
