Wiha Inomic® is dependable. Sound, application-orientated research accom-panied the development of the pliers.Together with the Fraunhofer-Institut für Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation (IAO) inStuttgart, Wiha subjected every detail to anexhaustive analysis. The design and development takes medicalknowledge and current know-how from manyresearch disciplines into account. Hundredsof users tested the mechanics, the grippingsystem, blade forms and jaw geometry.The optimum solution came out of a wide variety of forms and variants.

Light and preciseThe rugged pliers jaws made of ballbearing steel are produced with theinnovative metal injection moulding process (MIM). That makes them lighterand more rugged than cast or forged steelparts.A pair of Inomic® pliers is up to 20 percent lighter than conventional tools.

Corrosion and maintenance-freeA complete zinc-nickel coating, a develop-ment from the automotive industry, givesthe pliers jaws permanent, all-round corrosion resistantance. Hybrid high-techproduces the joint: Special plastic withbetter sliding properties than steel is castcompletely free of play with the plier jaws.

Impact resistant and safeThe ergonomically formed, impact resistant body of the tool is made ofglass-fibre reinforced plastic, which islow-friction in the sliding area of the movable blade and has a soft plasticcoating (thermoplastic elastomer) in thepressure zone for the ball of the hand.The opening spring supports controlled,careful gripping. The catch at the back ofthe pliers locks the pliers for transport.So much safety in a single hand.

Additional functions make a multi-toolout of the simple telephone pliers. TheInomic® needle nose pliers come withside cutters and three integrated wire

stripping stations for commoncable sizes. The ring diametersare AWG 12, 10 and 8 (2.5 mm²,1.5 mm² and 0.75 mm²).

The larger stations are located on the inside, where pliers force and leverageare stronger, so that the muscles staymore relaxed. Another advantage for efficiency and ergonomics. It doesn't matter in which position and direction the pliers grip; cables and wirescan be directed precise and without slipping with the proven profile of thegripping surfaces. Two cross-directionalprofiles prevent them from jamming upthe grooves.

Pyramid stumps, cleanly arranged in across profile, ensure the right grip. It doesn't matter in which position and direction the pliers grip, they nestle entirely around the workpiece. And that'swhy there's so little restriction when working with the Inomic®.
