Blackfilm.com spoke with screenwriter Takashi Bufford (‘House Party 3′ and ‘Booty Call’) Why do you think the film still resonates as an urban cult classic?

Takashi Bufford: Because it was a very good story. It was the first of its kind in that it featured four women. I think it had a certain truth to it that rang out and resonated. They were going to do a sequel and I never saw a studio so excited to doing it. They went to all through the departments and were cleared

with the budgets. Everybody gave it a green light and then they went to Jada, but she didn’t want to do it. So that killed it.

Before graduating Cal Arts with a Masters Degree in Live Action film K.C. was able to add a Grammy Nomination to his belt for Best Long Format Video. Columbia records had tapped K.C.’s directing talent for James McMurtry’s Country album and K.C. rewarded the label with a Grammy Nomination.

K.C. explains, “Before graduating film school I was able to plaster GRAMMY NOMINATION at the top of my resume.

Death Row Records was no stranger to K.C.’s talents and commissioned the young director to complete “Death Row Uncut”, instantly giving Ventura distribution what is still

considered a number one seller with 500,000 units sold, K.C. had the confidence to continue to create works for some of the greatest legends in the music industry. Using his deep knowledge of the fast moving music culture to complete special feature DVD releases for artist ranging from JOHN LENNON “The man the myth the legend” a featurette for Lennon’s film “Imagine”, to MACY GRAY “A Day In The Life Of”.

K.C. continues to keep his finger on the pulse, Directing videos for platinum artist’s like Mack 10, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne as reflected in the BET hit of the week “So Sharp”.

K.C. remains very prolific firing off “Iwo Vets, There Stories There Voices” a documentary that recently screened at the National Archive Museum in Washington D.C. The clip will be kept in a nuclear bomb proof vault forever solidifying the prolific directors tenacious ability to tell stories of great significance. K.C. is proud to be able to pay homage to the last remaining World War 2 veterans who happen to be black,

the same US Veterans who are constantly scrubbed from the history books and Hollywood films like the recent HBO series “Sands of Iwo Jima”.
