Work is continuing New elevated roads are being built and the existing M4 Motorway widened to create four lanes in each direction from Parramatta to Homebush. The additional lane and improved access onto the M4 will ease congestion for motorists and fix the significant pinch point at James Ruse Drive. Rizzani Leighton Joint Venture was awarded the contract to build the project. It is anticipated the impact on traffic flow will be minimal as most of the work will take place off the roadway. Works will generally occur between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and 8am and 1pm on Saturday, weather permitting. Rizzani Leighton will advise residents of any activities that may need to take place outside these times. Motorists are asked to follow traffic signs and reduce speed. For up-to-date traffic information, please visit livetraffic.com or download the app, available on iOS and Android in the app stores. The M4 Widening is jointly funded by the Australian Government and the NSW Government. We’re building Tomorrow’s Sydney The NSW Government is building an integrated transport solution including public transport and critical road infrastructure to keep Sydney moving. WestConnex will widen and extend the M4 and M5 and join them together to form a 33-kilometre continuous free flowing motorway with connections to the city, airport and port. WestConnex will provide relief to the hundreds of thousands of motorists struggling in traffic congestion every day and help return local streets to local residents along these corridors. Extending the M4Following an extensive assessment process Leighton Samsung John Holland was selected to deliver the extension of the M4 Motorway from Homebush to Haberfield.

The extension will end the bottleneck at the end of the M4, saving travel time for motorists and removing cars off local streets.

The M4 will be extended by building twin tunnels from Homebush to Parramatta Road and the City West Link, Haberfield. The tunnels will have three lanes in each direction and connect to the work already started on Stage 1, widening the M4 Motorway from Church Street, Parramatta to Homebush Bay Drive, Homebush.

Motorists can enter and exit the M4 East tunnel at:

• The M4 Motorway at Homebush

• Concord Road at North Strathfield

• Parramatta Road at Haberfield

• City West Link at Haberfield
