Even though these clubs operate independently they still share very similar professional, academic, social, and outreach oriented goals. Despite the overlap, these clubs don’t have a central- ized way of communicating with each other. They don’t have a way of sharing events, ideas, successes and failures, or even getting to know each other’s mem- bers. •Conduct user research to learn how WiCS clubs share information with each other • Help users stay up to date on other clubs’ activities • Allow users to find and reuse successful events • Browsing what events are other clubs hosting? • Filtering low budget, not much time to plan high budget, a week to plan • Create event from scratch event is original • Create event from template well rated, successful events can be reused • How to structure a WiCS board club profiles can be used for reference Built using the Meteor.js, an open- source platform for building web apps. Includes Backbone for URL routing and the Handlebars templat- ing package. •More user studies • Recruit more schools • Privacy settings • Chat and messaging • Future work in online collaboration and content reuse could involve other club chapters (ex: SWE, SHPE, SIGGRAPH). Universities nationwide have clubs for women in com-puter science, commonly called WICS. Even though these clubs operate independently they still share very similar professional, academic, social, and outreach oriented goals.
Despite the overlap, these clubs don’t have a central-ized way of communicating with each other. They don’t have a way of sharing events, ideas, successes and failures, or even getting to know each other’s mem-bers.
