Note that applicants must have submitted a Notice of Intent to be eligible to apply and all co-investigators and team members must be Queen’s faculty. The application must be written in such a way to allow assessment by individuals not expert in your field. Page limits must be adhered to.

1. Proposal (maximum four pages) Include a proposal which includes the following:

An overview of the idea including why it is high risk, innovative and could lead to a breakthrough.

A description of potential knowledge mobilization outcomes, including impact on community and the development of relationships with other partners, including government, industry and the not-for profit sector.

A maximum of five proposed metrics that will be used to evaluate the success of project in the second phase of the funding.

2. Budget (maximum one page) Include a brief summary of the proposed use for the initial $75,000 in funding. 3. Abbreviated Curriculum Vitae (maximum two pages) Include an abbreviated CV for each co-investigator and all team members, which includes the following:

Name/email/Department

Current appointment at Queen’s University

Confirm if an Early Career Researcher (first academic appointment within last 10 years)

Year highest degree completed

Publications (list top-three publications)

Funding (list five most significant grants/contracts in the last five years)

Recent academic service (conference organization, journal editor, committee service, etc.)

Awards and honours (list top-three)

Submission Instructions Please attach the completed application form and any other documents in ONE file to your TRAQ DSS Form. The completed application file should be attached to the Attachments tab of the TRAQ DSS Form. The TRAQ DSS Form is available in the TRAQ Researcher Portal. See TRAQ website (www.queensu.ca/traq) for sign on information and training materials. Application Signatures and Approvals Note: The applicant provides his/her electronic signature when submitting the TRAQ DSS Form. The Department Head provides his/her signature when approving the TRAQ DSS Form. Both of these actions are dated and time stamped. Note: Co-applicants listed in the TRAQ DSS Form will have access to the electronic file. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: All required electronic signatures must be completed in the TRAQ DSS Form by the application deadline or your application will not be considered. Please allow sufficient time in advance of the application deadline to ensure all electronic signatures are completed.
