Until now, the pharmaceutical industry has presented itself as

a benefactor to mankind that no modern society could existwithout. A simple analysis of the nature of the pharmaceuticalindustry, however, reveals a realistic picture, which can besummarized as follows:

1 The pharmaceutical industry is not a naturally grownhealth industry, but an artificially created investmentbusiness based on the deceptive promise to deliverhealth.

2 The marketplace of the pharmaceutical industry isyour body but only as long as it is sick.

3 Prevention, root cause treatment and, above all, eradi-cation of diseases decrease or destroy the pharmaceu-tical markets and are, therefore, not in the interest of

this industry.

4 The great majority of pharmaceutical drugs have noproven efficacy and are merely symptom oriented.

The basis of the enormous profits of this industry is noteffectively fighting diseases, but the patent royalties of

newly synthesized molecules unknown to the humanbody.

6 Because most pharmaceutical drugs are syntheticmolecules, they are toxic to the human body and fre-quently cause serious side effects, new diseases oreven death.

Deception Is a Precondition for thePharmaceutical Business With Disease

How is it that millions of people are still willing to pay billionsof dollars for drugs that do not cure and frequently harm?

Over the past century, the pharma-cartel and its army of lobby-ists have infiltrated all sectors of our society. They have strate-gically built an intricate maze of manipulation, deception andcontrol. The most important elements of this scheme are sum-marized on the opposite page:

Manipulation of research so that synthetic drugs rather thannatural therapies appear as medicine.

Endorsement of the pharmaceutical business with diseaseby doctors and other health professionals recommendingineffective drugs. Many of them are victims themselvesbecause they have been deprived of adequate training innutritional medicine during their medical education.

Deception by multi-million dollar advertising campaignson television and in other mass media that deceive the pub-lic about the efficacy and risks of pharmaceutical drugs.

Regulation and legislation brought about by regulatoryagencies and politicians under the pressure of an army ofpharmaceutical lobbyists.

In the future, no nation will be able to afford to burden itseconomy with a pharmaceutical industry that grows like a can-cer at the expense of people, corporations and the public sec-tor. All these groups are suffocating from exploding health carecosts for medicines that do not cure.

plans could not be passed were our protests against them.These protests came in different forms, including rallies, healthconferences, Open Letters in newspapers, info-mailings, letters

by patients to Codex delegates and many other actions. Partic-ularly effective were petition drives in the form of email cam-paigns. In 2002, the number of emails sent to Codex members,politicians and governments supporting the Codex plans of thepharma-cartel surpassed 650 million from around the world.

In parallel efforts, the drug companies were also trying toabuse national parliaments, as well as regional institutions.Most recently, they twisted the arm of the European Parliament

and its cabinet (European Commission). On the day in March2002 when the vote on the restriction of natural health for thepeople of Europe was voted on, so many protest emails arrivedat the EU Parliament that the entire email system was shutdown for the first time in its history.

What have we accomplished with these protests? A lot! First,we have prevented the unethical pharma-cartel plans for aglobal ban on natural therapies from being implemented long

ago. Second, we have convinced Codex delegates from SouthAfrica and other countries, primarily from the developingworld, that by supporting the pharma-cartels Codex plans,they are not solving, but actually aggravating the health prob-lems in their countries and increasing the dependency on thepharma-cartel.

Most importantly, we have informed millions of people aboutthese unscrupulous plans. These people, among them scien-

tists, doctors and politicians, were enabled to see behind thedeceptive smoke screen of consumer protection and tradestandards drawn up by the pharma-cartel as a pretense fortheir protectionist laws.

Many times during those years, I gave speeches on behalf ofthe people of the world. I spoke for millions of people in Amer-ica, Asia, Africa and Europe. I spoke for the present generation
