• Books– Your choice.– Fiction or nonfiction.– Prefer it to be a new read.– Reading level appropriate—not too hard, or not too easy.– Give a book at least 50 pages before abandoning it—don’t force yourself

to read a book you are disliking!– Where and when to locate books in school:

• My library before class, after class, down time during class, workshop time, on your way to lunch.

• School library before class, after class, down time during class, workshop time, on your way to lunch– You need to have a pass to enter the library—they are hanging on the front board. Bring

the pass back to the classroom!– You should never be without a book for more than twenty-four hours—

begin searching for your next book when you are reaching the end of your current book, and have the next book ready!

– “Books Read” sheet:• Record every book you abandon and complete on your books read sheet.• Record the title, author, and page amount read for each book.• Check the yes box if you finished the book, or the no box if you abandoned the

book.
