Why go to confession? The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance) is more than a pious devotion that we pick or choose to participate in occasionally. The Sacrament is an opportunity to encounter Christ – the one who risked his life – literally – for the sinner, the lost one, the one who could not forgive and the one who believed that they could not be forgiven.
Sacrament of Reconciliation - Communal Penance Service Wednesday , December 14, 2016
7:00 PM
Is Forgiveness Important? The most difficult challenge we have in life is the ability to forgive and to be forgiven. Countless examples are around us of people who live without forgiveness. Families and friends are torn apart because we can’t forgive. Bitterness – Hostility – Grudges that we carry with us for years
and years; never letting the anger, never letting go of the hurt. Meet an angry person and you will meet a person who has
been hurt.
Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Servers, Ushers, and Greeters - You are needed for our Christmas Eve/Day and New Years Eve/Day masses! Please stop in the cry room and sign up - If you are interested in volunteering for any of these services, please contact Michael Reed in the church office or email him at [email protected]

No Food Collection at Christmas Masses Typically, a very large number of people attend the Masses on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. To avoid creating access and/or “traffic flow” problems at these Masses, we will suspend our food collection on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We urge parishioners to be especially generous with food donations during the weeks preceding Christmas, and we will resume “normal” food collections the weekend following Christmas.
Tree of Giving Thank you to everyone who took a tag from the tree or made a donation. Your kindness and generosity are truly overwhelming. Your spirit of giving will make this Christmas much brighter for many families.
December is shaping up to be another very good month for our food collection. This week we collected 491 lbs. of food, 40 lbs. of clothing, 11 lbs. of toiletries. Great job everyone! Catholic Charities will be very grateful when we deliver to them. Thank you again for your help.
