Why a Water Alkalizer is Not a Substitute For Ionizer Machines By Alderin Ordell www.waterforlifeusa.com It’s unfortunate that, if you are in the market for healthy drinking water, you can easily be misled by all the claims and counter claims from all the different products out there. It wouldn’t be as bad if some of these claims were consistent with each other, but it seems they can be different from one product to its copycat alternatives, and the next. One piece of misinformation I have seen recently has lead me to write this article on the so-called water alkalizer. These appliances, also known as alkaline water flasks or portable water alkalizers, are sold as affordable ways to give you access to alkaline drinking water. And, in the case of one water alkalizer brand I viewed, apparently the same ionized water that you get from an ionizer machine, too. But the truth is that these portable devices have nowhere near the capability to create the same ionized water that you can get from a top ionizer machine. A Water Alkalizer is Just Not the Same How a water alkalizer or flask works is certainly very simple. All you need to do is pour tap water inside one (usually around 500ml to fill it up) and wait around 10 minutes for the alkalizing minerals inside to take effect. According to the manufacturers, these carefully selected minerals, including phlogopite, red clay and Mine Q, will provide you with properly alkaline, health boosting water for up to six months before you need to replace the flask. Now you don’t need to be a genius to work out that this basic process is not the same thing that takes place inside a cutting-edge water ionizer machine that is installed in your kitchen. Naturally, then, it’s also easy to come to the conclusion that you are not getting a similar end product out of one either.

It’s unfortunate that, if you are in the market for healthy

drinking water, you can easily be misled by all the

claims and counter claims from all the different products

out there. It wouldn’t be as bad if some of these claims

were consistent with each other, but it seems they can

be different from one product to its copycat alternatives,

and the next.

One piece of misinformation I have seen recently has

lead me to write this article on the so-called water

alkalizer. These appliances, also known as alkaline

water flasks or portable water alkalizers, are sold as

affordable ways to give you access to alkaline drinking

water. And, in the case of one water alkalizer brand I

viewed, apparently the same ionized water that you get

from an ionizer machine, too.

But the truth is that these portable devices have nowhere near the capability to create the same ionized

water that you can get from a top ionizer machine.

A Water Alkalizer is Just Not the SameHow a water alkalizer or flask works is certainly very simple. All you need to do is pour tap water inside one

(usually around 500ml to fill it up) and wait around 10 minutes for the alkalizing minerals inside to take

effect. According to the manufacturers, these carefully selected minerals, including phlogopite, red clay and

Mine Q, will provide you with properly alkaline, health boosting water for up to six months before you need

to replace the flask.

Now you don’t need to be a genius to work out that this basic process is not the same thing that takes

place inside a cutting-edge water ionizer machine that is installed in your kitchen. Naturally, then, it’s also

easy to come to the conclusion that you are not getting a similar end product out of one either.

The Things That a Water Alkalizer LacksAny claims that a water alkalizer is even a half decent alternative to

even the cheapest ionizer machine are wide of the mark. Simple

water alkalizers do not come equipped with a state-of-the-art

electrolysis chamber like top ionizers do.

And whether a water alkalizer flask produces alkaline water or not

is mostly irrelevant as it’s not alkalinity in a water that makes it

healthy to drink, it’s the antioxidants. And this is what’s produced

in an ionizer’s electrolysis chamber.

These counter-top machines electrolyze tap water using platinum-

coated titanium electrodes inside the electrolysis chamber. This

ionizes the water that passes over it, and it is this process that

packs the water with antioxidant molecules and makes the water

alkaline at the same time.

The electrodes separate this ionized alkaline water from low

antioxidant acidic water which is filtered out of a waste hose as the healthy water goes direct to your tap

faucet.

The Missing Hydroxyl Ions in a Water AlkalizerYou don’t get this electrolysis process inside a water alkalizer flask. The idea that you could is simply

absurd. The only other place where you can observe this process is in nature where glacial or spring water

is energised by the sun’s rays. The energy in the water creates an abundance of ions and these are

important because when ions combine with hydrogen they form hydroxyl ions, which are the natural

antioxidant in water. Ions also energize the water molecules, which are attracted to each other, and then

form tight alkaline water bonds. This means that ionized water is also extremely hydrating, and three times

more hydrating to your body than tap or bottled water.

And we should all know by now that antioxidants slow ageing and also help fight disease and ill health

whereas the hydrating aspect of ionized water means that drinking it can also improve your energy levels

and brain function. You can’t get any of these benefits from plain alkaline water.

So whether you get this type of healing water from a natural spring or water ionizer machine, it is the same

thing. You certainly can’t hope to reap these benefits from a simple water alkalizer flask.
