    1.0 INTRODUCTION

    Japan Vietnam Petroleum Company (JVPC) operates the Rang Dong oil field located in

    Block 15-2 offshore Vietnam. Stage 1 of the Rang Dong Full Field Development was

    completed in November 2003.

    Currently, the field facilities comprise of an FPSO (Rang Dong 1), 4 wellhead platforms

    namely, WHP-N1, WHP-E1, WHP-S1 and WHP-C1, a compression and water injection

    platform NCWI, a utility and living quarter platform NULQ, a central liquids production

    platform CLPP, and the in-field pipeline system.

    The scope of work for this modification of WHP-C1 includes:

    Gas lift line from gas lift manifold to slot 07.

    2.0 SCOPE OF WORK

    The scope of analysis is limited to the pipe stress of the following lines, in accordance to

    the requirements of RDF-00-P-T-0002 (The Basis for Pipe Stressing Analysis). The

    detailed model input and results can be found in Appendix A.

    4.0 DESIGN CRITERIA

    4.1 Design Code

    The pipe stress analysis is carried out using CAESAR II Version 5.0, which meets the

    requirements of ASME B31.3. The lines are analyzed for the following load cases:

    1. Hydrotest

    2. Operating

    3. Sustained

    4. Expansion

    4.2 Assumptions & Input Parameters

    1. For the pipe stress analyses of the WHP-C1 gas lift modification lines, the tie-in

    flanges to the choke valves are assumed as anchor supports that displace vertically by

    170mm, accordingly with the Christmas trees.2. The wind effects on the piping are considered with data derived from WHP-C1-A-A-

    0030 Rev. 0, WHP-C1 Facility Basis of Design.

    3. Occasional load cases consist of 100-year cyclone wind speed of 51 m/s.

    4. Ambient temperature of 19oC (lowest ambient) is used in the analyses.

    5. Effects due to earthquake are considered negligible.

    5.0 CONCLUSION

    The overall piping system meets the code stress requirements as prescribed in ASME

    B31.3 and the proposed support locations and types of supports are considered to be safe

    from the view point of stress for the given design conditions. The details of the input and

    output data can be referred to in Appendix A.
